Let's Discuss Morde

Mordekaiser I don't know if anybody else is having this problem, but Morde feels nearly unbeatable to me. Unless you are playing something like Vayne top, you can't kill him. His Q does way too much damage for being as tanky as he is, his W shields him and gives him way too much sustain, and his E makes it difficult to get away unless you are playing a mobility champ. On top of all that, you have to deal with his passive and his ult, so MORE damage and you can't escape. Now I hear some people saying, just play champs that beat him, but I shouldn't have to play 1/4 characters every game to just counter Morde. On top of that, getting jg help very rarely works, due to the current state of the jg. Needless to say, I hate Morde and hope he gets nerfed (though I doubt it cause he's "not viable in competitive play"). Anyway, do you agree or are my views unfounded. See ya on the rift, -turtlerekter

Yasuo dicks him so hard its ridiculous. Yasuo just straight up outdamages him from level 1 on. Darius negates his heal, and outdamages him from level 1 on. Fiora can beat him, but takes skill. Kayle….. is really hit or miss. Either she beats him early and snowballs hard as fuck, or she gets dumpstered. Trynda counters him, Teemo CAN beat him if youre good with him. Basically, there are a CHUNK of champs that flat outdamage him. There are MANY champs mobile enough to make him useless. There are MANY champs that outsustain him. Whatever you want to dumpster him with is really up to you, he's really not that bad. Oh, AND you can legit just QSS his ult.

I can see that you're having some trouble with the guy, we all have that one champ who stomps on us all hard too so I can empathize with you. Anywho I think I can at least help you out a bit.

For the most part Morde is heavily countered by mobility, which I'm sure you're already aware of since you pointed it out. Still it can't be understated that mobility hurts him quite a bit as it negates his primary method of lining up reliable q's and passive procs with his e/q/auto combo. Furthermore keeping minions between you and him is a good method of reducing his damage as his q does far more when you're isolated and doesn't chunk until he gets some items.

The real troublemaker when you're fighting him is his passive, if you're playing a melee character it lets him slap your cheeks pretty early on. In general Morde is something like a slightly more forgiving Zed in that unless you can kite him out (not too difficult for heavy cc or fairly mobile champs) he forces you to counter build him to a degree. item 3194 is your best friend here. Most of his damage comes in the form of his low cd q and his passive ticks, which the helm effectively counters well.

The ult on the other hand is much more of a sticking point, the counter play for that is vastly different depending on the type of champ you play. If you're a duelist you can always just straight up try to fight him in there, however to do so it is imperative to dodge the e and as many q's as possible to delay the passive from activating quickly. If you're a mage your best bet is to either burst him if possible or chain together your cc and always keep a distance, you're not trying to beat him in the ult so much as just last until it ends, item 3157 or item 2420 can help you out in the final few seconds you need.

Adc's and anyone else you can use item 3139 or item 3140 can just bust out straight away since it lets them skip out of the ult entirely.

Other than that he's a juggernaut, he's slow, melee and survivable as all hell. You win by making him come to you and not making it easy by initiating on him when he's still in fighting shape. I'd suggest not starting anything with him when his shield is near full as he's itching to use it for a shield, it's best to wait until he uses it for the heal and then go to town.

Just his R should be changed. It is disgusting that you cannot play some champions against him, because if he uses R on you then its over. I ban him when I play Twitch jungle, because I can't gank the guy after lvl 6. He ults me and we are 1v1. Can't beat him then.

Long cooldowns. Even his Q has a moderate CD early on. Abuse them.

Also his heal is pathetic. He heals for a maximum of 12% of his health with rank 1 W.

I personally don't find him that hard to beat, I won't deny he's annoying to fight and can be tricky sometimes especially of you're a melee champ.

If you want champs that dominate Morde early Darius Fiora Ryze Kennen Shen Riven Tryndamere Jax are without a doubt the champs you should pick up, these champs either completely destroy Morde in sustain fights or counter his engage.

Morde is very easy to abuse early due to his long cooldowns and poor sustain. The biggest problem is people do not know how to abuse him and just let him scale.

Remind me how much damage Mordes ult does.
