Poll: which trap mechanic does the community find to be the most annoying

With all of the youtube videos documenting the absurdity of AP maokai and the power of his saplings, it made me wonder: what is the the league community's least favorite trap? Now the rough definition that I will use for trap is any spell that lasts a long time (let's say 20+ seconds), requires no interaction on behalf of the players, and is triggered when an enemy player, pet, or minion is within proximity. That gives us 5 traps that come to mind(please feel free to correct me in the comment and I will amend the post to include if I agree that it fits my definition of a trap). For those of you who need a refresher on the traps: Caitlyn's yordle snap trap: These traps last 90 seconds and will root a target in place for 2 seconds, grant truesight, and grant caitlynn a headshot procc on the target for extra bonus damage depending on the rank. Maokai's sapling toss: Maokai tosses a sapling at the target location and after a short arming duration, will run towards the first enemy target that is close enough to trigger it and then it will explode, doing flat magic damage plus an amount that scales with the enemy's max hit points while slowing the targets for 35%. When placed in the brush, the damage will be dealt over 2 seconds and the damage dealt will be doubled. Nidalee's Bushwhack: nidalee places a trap at the target location that will cause magic damage over 4 seconds to the target. Additionally, nidalee will gain the ability to pounce on the target at an increased range. Shaco's jack in the box: Shaco will place an invisible box on the ground that will arm after a short delay. When an enemy target approaches a box, the box will trigger causing a short duration fear followed by a constant barrage of ranged attacks from the box that will last until the box is destroyed, the box times out, or the target leaves the range of the box. Teemo's noxious traps: teemo drops a poisonous mushroom that will stealth and arm after a short delay. When an enemy target is close enough to trigger the trap, the trap will explode, causing damage over 4 seconds and slowing the target based on rank for the duration.

I really am not interested in hearing complaining about game balance or the fairness of a mechanic. However, if you can explain WHY you dislike a particular trap over the others, I am interested in hearing it. The poll is simply about which one you may find the most annoying, so there is no wrong answer as what grinds your gears may not phase somebody else.

If anyone was curious what OP's choice was; I dislike shaco's boxes the most. Shaco tilts me in everything he does from his stupid dance, to his annoying voicelines, to the various parts of his kit(invisible flash on a low cd, free crits based on positioning, the option to take smite/ignite and cheese...etc). So this is more about shaco than the trap itself. What an annoying Joker wannabe. -_-

Edit: I forgot to include jhin's trap. for those who forget like I did, jhin places a trap on the ground that arms and stealths after a moderate delay. when an enemy target steps on it, they will be slowed while the the trap will detonate for a large amount of damage after 2 seconds

Teemo's shrooms only deserve this vote because the majority of his power frontloaded in them and there's no real way to mitigate the damage from them. Either you sweep and kill them (without accidentally misclicking and popping them anyway) or you eat the bulk of the damage. All of the others have a clear play pattern and a clear way to work around them.

Also, this vote is missing Jhin E traps.

The only thing that annoys me about any trap is Teemo's Mushroom's explosion radius compared to the graphic.

fucking shrooms.

then caits traps, just because she can litter everything with them in no time.

My vote is for Cait traps. She can wall off an entire lane and there is nothing you can do except walk on it and lose half your health or sit back trying to cs after she freezes lane outside your range.

Cait's b/c the zoning plus they can't be destroyed (without taking the snare) unlike all the others. (Maokai's can be activated and run away from to take no damage, and all the others can be revealed and destroyed).

Caitlyn traps because the only way to get rid of them is to

  1. Step on them and have her chunk your health

  2. Be Sivir or Morgana

  3. Wait until they finally go away so then she can place more in a new spot

Teemos mushrooms for esentialy unless you saw the fucker put them their, excluding red wards and sweepers, you have no real way to counter them. Adcs are typically expected to get a blue orb, so if you are a stray adc, and you walk to your jungle and boom you step on two shrooms and die from it. Is that really your fault? To a certain degree, no it's not.

Teemos shrooms feel very luck based for both the teemo player and the enemy team. The teemo player is just sitting their giggling like a mad man hoping you step on them, if the enemy never steps on them is that his fault? To a certain degree yes, but at the same time that's also just rotten luck.

Teemo shrooms are super strong but super luck based, thus they are annoying.

Caitlyn traps are the most obnoxious traps because they aren't even real traps. Traps contain an element of surprise and uncertainty, which adds a unique flavour to gameplay. Caitlyn's traps are just a huge "fuck you" that can cover the width of an entire lane. It can't be destroyed witout surving its purpose and it does not contain an element of surprise. There is also no mind game or bait needed for this trap, literally just shut off the lane with it and you are good to go.

Not to mention stepping on a trap means a guarentee Q in the face +.Headshot + hurricane bolt to nearby allies. There is simply no counterplay to this trap for many champions.
