Warwick troubles

I just came out of a game as the old rocket dog, and, honestly, I did Ass. Like, I did no damage, and I was also squishy af. I was basically useless. 100%.

My build was item 1401 item 3748 item 3065item 3111 , and maybe one other item, in that order. I was against a fed Annie/chogath, with a xayah/rakan/teemo backing them up.

So, my question is, was i building something wrong, or was i just fuked in terms of picks, or was I just bad? And if so, how do I improve?

Thanks.

I want to preface this with a disclaimer, I don't play ranked and I've never climbed above silver. I don't know about higher levels of play so what I have to say may only be applicable to Normals (the majority of my experience) and low ranked play.

Titanic Hydra is rather expensive, and junglers usually do not have enough income to afford it. Especially if they are behind or if the enemy team is fed. This likely delayed your build for too long and left you squishy for longer. It may explain your feeling of squishiness throughout the game, although enemies who are fed and overleveled will tend to do that to you anyway.

You probably wanted magic resist earlier, since they had annie, cho'gath, and Teemo. Rushing Spirit Visage before you even finish the cinderhulk might have been a better move.

If you wanted damage vs that sort of team I might suggest Wit's End over Titanic Hyrda, as it is cheaper and would give you damage while also enhancing your main form of resistance against the enemy team, and WW is good at dealing on-hit damage (hits like 5 times during his ultimate). Wit's End synergizes with WW really well actually, due to the attack speed helping his self-healing, and the MR stealing helping your Cinderhulk / sunfire cape damage.

If you can upload your replay to youtube and link it here we can provide better feedback, as we will then be able to look at your gameplay as well as how your team was performing that game. As a jungler there is a lot you can do to impact the game early on, like help your teammates snowball, or reduce enemy advantages when they begin snowballing against your team.

To record a replay (if Riot doesn't let you download them) you can use OBS (open broadcasting software) as they allow you to 'stream' a recording of your screen to a file on your computer. Then you just upload that file to youtube.

Warwick is actually pretty good. If you want to be a little more tanky then max e first and take courage. If you want maximum damage and clear speed then max W first.

Warwick is also good at early ganks so hopefully annie and cho don't get fed early if you get a couple of good ganks. When the game starts to snowball even warwick can feel squishy

Warwick main here. Feel free to check op.gg stats and everything if u want. I happened to have played a normal game of him today you could copy runes/masteries/build from. Ofc build is situational but even my build has core. Runes and masteries are the same for me every game. You probably cant go far back enough to see an example from a ranked game because I've been in the process of moving houses for a while so I haven't played ranked in a bit.

There's a lot more to a champion than just your build and runes/masteries. It's all about playstyle. I dont know how you played that game so I cant tell you what you did wrong, but cho'gath is a very easy jungle matchup that you should've been able to punish, and xayah/rakan are fairly easy to handle aswell imo. Teemo isnt even a proper champion so I dont know what to say about him. Issue with warwick is, his playstyles are very unique. I have a very unique playstyle that I haven't seen anyone else use. I obviously can't explain it all here, but generally I focus on ganking quite a lot. Why? Because thats what the meta forces you to do right now. I clear Red, Wolves, Blue, if no gank is available at that moment I do gromp or go for dragon if its one that I can take and if its not risky (test which dragons you can clear with double buffs and how many smite charges do you need in practice mode). If its not a dragon I care about then I just go for gromp and scuttle and then look for ganks or deep wards in the enemy jungle. Most people that play Warwick are very counter gank orientated, but I always attempt to be the main ganker. Mid and late game I'm my team's engage tool and tank, hence my Righteous Glory build (which I havent seen anyone else do yet). I feel fairly confident in my tankiness with my core items (Cinderhulk (red smite), Tiamat and Ninja Tabi), so I can usually afford going righteous glory. If they have any extremely heavy AD or AP and my team has other engage options then I can go for a Spirit Visage or an Armor item instead (Thornmail/Frozen Heart. DONT BUILD DEADMAN'S, AS ITS NAME SUGGESTS, ITS A DEAD ITEM). You already usually have decent armor with tabis though. I only finish of Titanic as my 6th item, I just hold onto the Tiamat for the whole game. I can't say much more about playstyle in this post but you will have to play him a lot and find your own probably.

One big flaw in your build is Blue Smite which I never take, and mercs is a bad buy aswell since Tabi would help you vs. Teemo and Xayah, and you dont need tenacity on warwick since you have an AoE fear, a Q that cant be interrupted, and an Ult that cant be interrupted while you're traveling in the air. Good luck, I'd tell you to add me for more info but I'm not from NA unfortunately :p

i recently hit lvl 7 on warwick after picking up up after his rework.

here are some tips

you need to rush item 3077 as it will improve your clear exponentially but then focus on gettingitem 1401 and boots before completing item 3748

also. as good as item 3065 is on him.. you shouldn't be grabbing it just or the extra healing.

grab it when u need MR even before completing item 3748 see what your need

if the enemy has champion like Vladimir or champion with insane healing

grab an early item 3076 it's tremendously effective. but dont COMPLETE the item 3075 until you have to (like your 6th item)

you need to modify your build

you even have boots options for different situations

if the enemy team has a lot of tanks you should get a item 3153 after item 3748 or even before finishing it if you need to item 3025 is normally something i get on warwick because of the CDR and the slow and armor

item 3742 is good if they have faster champions you have trouble catching to initially proc a slow if you dont need CDR and have have plenty of armor item 3022 synergizes good with titanic and cinderhulk

Warwick isnt an AP champion.. he HAS build variety

he isn't Nidalee when you basically getitem 1410 item 3100 item 3158 item 3102 item 3157 and then last item item 3135 or item 3089 bases solely on if they have built MR or not, in EVERY SINGLE GAME no matter what happens, because either single other option is complete trash in comparison with the only change being which ORDER you buy item 3102 item 3100 item 3157

you're AD and your tanky... you HAVE choices and you HAVE build diversity at least after your basic item 1413 / item 3077
