Overall, too much damage is killing this game for me

It feels like no matter who I play or what game mode i do, my average lifespan in a fight is maybe 2 seconds. That's being generous sometimes, sadly.

Now, I'm not great at the game and I know that. But nowadays when an assassin looks at me i just kind of dont care. I know full well that im going to die in .49 seconds with little to no counterplay. I know that if some champs get even 1 kill they'll snowball so hard that for the next 20 mins ill be dying in .5s whenever they want me to.

And know what? It's NOT FUN AT ALL. This has become a disgusting abomination of damage where the fight is decided AS IT HAPPENS instead of WHILE IT HAPPENS. the first second of a fight generally decides it because in that first second most combatants have lost over 3/4 health.

It's very frustrating to play and VERY VERY boring to watch. I watched my first bit of "esports" today and found myself even more bored than regular sports (which i also dont like). 4 seconds of action decides the whole 20+ minute game and its honestly super boring. This is coming from a guy that dislikes conventional sports and really does want esports to be big.

So my question to RIOT is this: Do you think damage and more specifically burst is too high right now? Also, do you think the assassin rework will help at all? (Because I think its only going to make it worse and put that last nail in the coffin for many. REALLY hoping not though!).

I kinda hope they release NURF, or something along the lines of that. A gamemode where a teamfight doesn't last 10 seconds.

I'd have to disagree with OP because these split second assassinations build up over a lot period of time or a series of mistakes.

No champion 1v1 can generally do 50% of your HP before level 6, and even then it's still fairly rare for a QWER to kill someone with 1 back unless they are exceptionally squishy.

Things boil down to decisions made and your level of awareness. If an assassin comes back to lane at level 8 with a tier 2 item you should recognize that you either need MR/HP or need to play in a manner that doesn't give them an opportunity to splat all their abilities on your face.

I had a game the other day where Akali went 19-2 or something, and my whole team was crying about how OP she is and how unfair it is. Well, guess what, our mid straight up disrespected her damage in lane and got poked until he died multiple times, she was 4 levels ahead of the entire team by 15 minutes, and we deserved it. Champions with high mobility that get fed will all turn out like this, and it wasn't a split second problem, it was a player or players not playing responsibly in the early game.

keystones need to be reworked, period.

item 3285 item 3147 provide too much damage when ahead. stuff like this is not champions fault.

lot of champions would be put in line once abusive items are looked at.

It is actually better than it was at the beginning of this season....but I totally agree. The damage has been through the roof since the mastery reworks. Thunderlords is probably the #1 perpetrator. They nerfed item damage but the masteries add so much it seems idk.

Yeah sure. You give assassins as your example, which is probably the only champion class that hasn't been picked at world's so far and try to use that to prove this silly myth again. If an assassin instagibs you: a) let him walk up to you (through FoW) b) b(r)ought no HP/MR/Ar c) got outplayed

And be so kind as to link a single f-ing teamfight in world's where the fight lasted 4 seconds,

Fervor of battle needs immediate attention. The amount of damage that keystone gives without any scaling required other than leveling up is fucking insane. It has also been a common suspect in tank assassin/fighter abuse cases but seemingly gets overlooked while the champion abusing it gets nerfed (eventually if fervor of battle does get whacked, those champions then that were wrongly nerfed are going to suck total shit, and the balance nightmare of league o leggo continues).

Imo damage isnt the problem, because there has to be damage in order to kill priotirty tragets, i think the problem is not enough counter items. Atfer they nerfed qss adcs have it so rough. Also, i just dont think there are enough reliable items to counter burst besides zhonyas for squishy ads
