I am honestly impressed with the new Patch

Fisk··8 votes·716 views

Fast rebalance on mistakes made in previous patches (Kass, Azir, Veigar), listening to the community (yay veigar again), buffs to tanks, lots of QoL changes and bugfixes across the board, new items, item changes, lots of good jungle changes and a spanking hot new support. I'm liking this patch. Share your thoughts! (Bonus note: go look at http://www.surrenderat20.net/2015/03/311-pbe-update.html there are some pretty awesome new skins)

Shame the PBE isn't back up yet. I badly want to test out this new stuff. I'm particularly interested in the new Mastery thing.

Yeah... this next patch has a ton of awesome stuff in it and I am dying for the PBE to come up.

I agree this patch is a huge step in the right direction. I dont think Veigar is viable yet, but at least this will help a lot. Maybe next patch will bring him in line. (his W is still useless besides wave clear.) Honestly, give it a .9 AP ratio and lower its drop duration to like .75 seconds and maybe give it a slow. Then put the damage he loses from it back into his ult (bring it back to 1.2 AP ratio). BAM, veigar is back and wont have a toxic instant stun.

I have to wonder though, Did riot make 5.4 such a terrible patch so that they could make 5.5 seem like such an awesome patch? .... I'm on to you Rito... >_>

It' s overall drop duration is a .5 second wait now which is pretty good

I think we are talking about different abilities. Veigar's W is Dark Matter. It takes 1.2 seconds to drop. That needs to change. If they change that, then things will be better. The E, event horizon, has been changed to a .5 second delay total. The only problem is that it is very difficult to stun someone with that. Before it worked so well because they could not see where you were casting it. Now it is rather blatantly obvious. Not to mention, there is no advantage to trapping someone inside the cage. Veigar's W is so unreliable that he will likely be out damaged and die (he is made of wet tissues. Proven fact). Later patches will tell if he will actually be worth while. I personally hate that if you are in the fog of war and use the ability, they have just as much time to react as if you were in plain sight. I would rather them make it very obvious he was casting the stun with a .5 second cast time, than where it is now. You should be rewarded for catching people out and clearing vision well, not punished and give them an extra chance to run away.

Ohhhh my bad! Didn't read all of it, just skimmed. Yeah it could use some tweaks, but it has always been that way so we will see.

well the only reason it was like that was because his stun was reliable. you could hit people with it as long as they were stunned. but Now you cannot reliably stun anyone. not to mention it takes up LESS then 10% of the area in the event horizon. so even if you trap them, they can easily get out. Cho'gath rupture is over twice the size and happens in .625 seconds. I think that is enough said.

Yeah no I completely agree. I'm interested to see how they work it out. I wouldn't mind if they lowered the damage but increased the reliability personally

but they need to give him damage back in some area if they do that. otherwise he becomes a straight poke mage. just not a good one. keep in mind they also removed .2 AP scaling off his ult. veigar has lost a lot of damage and reliability in this "compensation." so pretty much everything people picked him for.

Fisk1 votes

Yeah very true. They could probably just lower scaling on the W and put the damage back on his ult. That might be good.

Veigar is still terrible because they removed the ability for E to stop dashes, and his Q being faster doesn't mean anything.

Fisk1 votes

Just fyi they are putting it back in. There was bug issues so it couldn't roll out on this patch. Scarizard tweeted about that. Also, there are more buffs on the way for him in the next patch! Go check it out.

Ye i saw the buffs on PBE, haven't seen the dash stopping return though. But if it does, i will actually start playing him again.

There was a riot tweet i have no idea where it is but i think it is going in and is actually on PBE, just wasn't included because it was never taken off PBE. Idk thats just what I've heard
