Currently, there is two champions that late game almost never fail to penta.

Yasuo when played really well, he actually just outplays people. I will give him that, because a new person to Yasuo that has never played him before would almost never be able to get a penta within the first few games. He has many mobility mechanics that can actually mess him up rather than help him out id take a rough guess of 60% of the time as a new Yasuo. He would take some getting used to.

The second one is the infamous Master Yi. Goes into jungle, gets Bloodrazor, Blade of the Ruined King, Guinsoos, and then proceeds to build Titanic Hydra and has no worries the rest of the game. No other champion can utilize this EVERY game and get a penta easily unless the enemy team is completely and totally fed and stacked with CC galor that the Yi does not dodge.

Im going to leave Yasuo alone for the most part atm, because i mean come on, that Wind Wall is his claim to fame. There isnt much left to say about him. But, you still have to actually play VERY well to get that penta unless you are completely and obsurdly fed.

I will however bring up the ease of Master Yi however. His claim to fame is his ultimate and there is no real way around it, in a team fight he will proceed to ulti, run at the enemy team, wait until the CC is launched at him and then Q to dodge it completely while being untargetable and dealing obsurd damage, kill the carry, kill the mage/squishier support/mid, then proceed to kill whoever else. His ultimate gets extra time on it for every kill, so it can easily last for 30 seconds if not longer of complete immune to slows, extra attack speed, and extra movement speed. His W once all the CC was wasted on him because of his Q can reduce the damage he takes while healing him, thus giving him plenty of time for his Q to come back up and go again.

I propose that the extra time for his ultimate is lessened or taken away completely, so that it HAS to be more situational, but id give it 10 seconds of time if it was taken away completely. MABEY 15, but that just seems a little high, however, it would give the team a little bit of a chance for counterplay against him seeing as he doesnt even need boots because of the obsurd speed boost from the ultimate itself.

The reason for removing the additional time for the ultimate (or atleast drastically lowering the additional time per kill) is because the time he sits in his W Meditate, he will be costing himself his ultimate time. This also means it will be more situational of WHEN to use the ultimate rather than "every time before the fight even if im half way across the lane". Yes, most of the fights will end up about the same, i assure you, but it would add a bit of counterplay that is desperately needed for a champion of that low skill needed, but that high of a reward. Seeing as with that Blade of the Ruined King, Bloodrazor, and Guinsoos alone he can wipe out a tank that has built thornmail and complete armor (including rammus) with no qualms or worries.

The extra tankiness from Titanic Hydra and god forbid if he actually had to buy something like ZZrot for even more move speed as an enemy tries getting away under tower, paired with yet more lifesteal from Blood thirster.... is just added icing on this extremely annoying to play against champion.

To those that are going to say "just play draft and ban Yi", please find a new thread, because you are not helpful nor are you trying to be.

To those that are willing to point out flaws apart from "riot wont change him because hes their pride and joy", please feel free to comment, just please tell me why you disagree or what you find as flaws.

To those that agree with me, please point out about what and why you do so its easier to see the points that people agree with and that others do not agree with.

Wait, is this really a nerf Master Yi topic?

Mostly, but also Yasuo players are the bane of existance for most people due to his pentakilling potential, i figured id throw him in too. They are fairly compareable in game play though, they both as mentioned get pentakills fairly easy. Just the difference is the amount of skills one takes over the others.

Not so much a nerf either btw, more of a tweak so he has to be more decisive with his ultimate timing seeing as it could potentially be more of a buff than a nerf for some people, unless they are so used to that 30+ seconds of ultimate time.

You forgot Kat.

True, theres 3 then, but kata can be shut down much easier due to her squishiness...... she actually dodges and takes quite a bit of fingerwork playing to get that going, also she is getting a nerf to her E cooldown i do believe? so she is already getting some counterplay put into her kit.

Here's a graph, I think your information is a little wrong. Although Yi is at the top. http://www.leagueofgraphs.com/champions/stats/by-pentakills

Yi ~1 penta per 100 games Yasuo ~1 penta per 300 games

Yes but how often do you hear complaints about the twitch getting pentakills etc? I was just going with the most complained about champion (yasuo) and the least complained about.

That graph in and of itself proves my point about Yi however, because from global to diamond+ he still has the highest pentakill percentage of any other champion. With a sizeable jump I might add from the others. No it may not ACTUALLY be every game but it very much seems like it.

Thank you for the graph however, i knew it wasnt actually every game, but it just feels like it.

Their flaws are that Yi is just a janitor. He has no place in team fights and the only reason he gets pentas is because his team won the fight for him and he just comes in to pick everyone off. If he actually tries to fight you the in a team fight he is going to get focused down so fast it doesn't matter. If you are giving Yi penta kills that means you are losing fights 4v5 to begin with so Yi isn't the problem. As for Yasuo, just don't get multi-ulted and you are fine. If you aren't stacked together he should never hit more than 2 of your team with his ult and then he isn't a problem. He has the same problem as Yi in team fights against competent teams. Just focus him down and he dies fast.

The only pentas that I have seen as long as I can remember have all been ADCs.

His place in team fights is simple, go in and slaughter the ADC. No he can not pentakill solo normally, but as posted in another comment, he is in the top of pentakills from global to diamond+. With a sizeable difference comparatively speaking from the second. So unless Diamond players may as well be bronze players against Yi, or Yi needs some kind of tweak. Yes he is mostly the janitor of league, BUT when he gets ahead, there is little to no stopping him apart from his team never being there to soak up the CC and add some of their own.

Yasuo as i said is a different ball game in how he pentakills/wins the games, yes you have to stand at a distance so you do not get multi-ultied, but often times that is easier said than done if they have any fairly reliable form of knock up..... for example Malphite and Braum. The reason being is when Yasuo goes in, he wind walls to keep the ranged from shooting from a distance, which forces them to come closer, which then means their team is more grouped so Braum can jump to him and ultimate, or malphite will ultimate, etc.

I havent seen too many ADC pentakills recently, or many in general, but when it happens it seems to be most of the time Yi or Yasuo. Even when you kill the entire enemy team apart from either of them, they always seem to manage to clean up.

Yi is definitely strong and a champion I'm currently working on picking up, but there is actually a lot of countering to him. My last game I only got a triple kill and I was pretty fed, 19-11-1 vs 3 diamonds a gold and a silver while having a plat, 1 gold, and 2 silvers as team mates. The reason he is strong is the same reason Kat is strong, resets. If he did not get the 70% reduction from the passive on his ult then he would be one of the weakest champions in the game and only capable of taking out maybe one person if he was really really fed before being blown up.

Honestly it feels like the only way to really balance him would be to do a rework. Simply tweaking his current stuff will either be ineffective or completely destroy him. I agree that he is strong, which is why I'm about to force myself to play about 50 games with him straight so I can pick him up, but I also believe that he is very team oriented because it is hard to do a lot in team fights unless your team is willing to follow up and help you secure kills/assists so you can keep Qing. There are also tons of forms of CC that just completely stomp him but people don't play those champs as much. If you play something he can easily dodge with his ult move speed or his Q then you are just wasting the ability to CC him. If you play something that can't be dodged then you completely shut him down. Yi is one of those champions that is strong until he is counter picked again, then he is useless.

Hmm, you do make a good point, but then again, if his ultimate time was slightly longer, he would still be able to fight and often times win the fights and pretty much pentakill easily. He would just actually need to buy boots. Even after his ultimate is down, all he needed to do during it was kill the enemy ADC and top/jungle/mid whoever is the other main threat. He just would be able to be taken down or gotten away from easier after it is gone.

Seeing as with item 3153 item 1416 / item 1419 item 3124 item 3748 item 3072 he is already able to even kill rammus, or anyone else without the need of his ultimate because he will just do..... lets see.... blood razor does 4% of a targets max hp per hit, Blade of the Ruined king does 8%..... so thats 12% of someones HP in one hit. With both of them having very good attack speed bonuses, the Blade of the Ruined King also doing lifesteal..... Add guinsoos and after 8 attacks which seems to come in much sooner than the 3 or so seconds...... that is 24% of someones max hp every second hit. Not including the Titanic Hydra damage inwhich is another auto proc that he gets to help speed things along.... All he would need is to buy boots and hes still similar to his current self, just with the ability to be slowed at some point in time before you die....... mabey.

Could be interesting if he gets reworked, but they do try to keep the champions overall identity, and because Yi's is so unique, the only thing that came close to him was the old fiora before her ultimate was changed so im unsure what they would do to him.

Edit:

As for being counterpicked, that only helps if they are able to handle the Yi fast enough, as mentioned before..... Yi has the highest pentakill rating even in Diamond+ with a sizeable lead above the number 2...... his team helps deal with the counter pick, or the Yi is last pick. Id assume there is a very good reason for that...... as you mentioned it is because he is just strong. Counterpicking against him only goes so far if he can blow up tanks in less than 5 seconds who have built nothing but armor.
