Any chance we could get dynamic CDR?

For those not familiar: Cooldown reduction is determined at the moment an ability is activated. Increasing/decreasing your cooldown reduction while the skill is on cooldown will not affect the cooldown.

Could we get dynamic as it cools down faster based on the newly bought CDR(aka like diablo3 does it)

Basically it is silly to have to "waste" your ultimate's cooldown at level 10 to get a kill then get level 11 and rank it up while having it on cooldown from its first rank as opposed to its new reduced cooldown from the additional rank in it.

What happens if you have blue buff, cast an ability, and then your buff dies while the ability is on CD? Does the CD extend? That can really mess someone up.

Likely would mostly affect ultimate abilities (because if you're at base to purchase the items, it's going to take a bit to get to lane anyway!).

That sounds pretty cool.

Please don't. Let's say...you're Karthus. You have 0% CDR at the moment, and you cast your rank 3 ultimate. It goes on CD... now you have to wait almost 3 minutes.

With your idea, Karthus could go to the store, buy a 20% CDR item, his current CD for his ult would decrease, and then he could sell the item back.

Not a good idea!

EDIT: I may have misinterpreted it. How exactly does Dynamic CD work?

i doubt they will take this difficult mechanic...

pretty out of their league...

Karthus approves.

I think part of the reason this isn't implemented is that it makes timing a person's cd's harder. Let's say an Amumu uses his ult without blue buff, so you know that you are relatively safe from being ganked by him. However, if he acquires blue some time later, you won't know how long he had the blue and even if you did it would be very different to judge how long it is until his ult. I don't think riot wants big cd abilities to be hard to judge when they will be up.

As a Cho'Gath who routinely ults the blue-buff only to realize "I should have killed the buff then ulted a minion..." I'm 100% for this.

This would be great with summoner's too, it's so lame to get lucidity boots and and the summoner's CD upgrade to have it be useless for minutes if your summoner's are currently on CD, as they often are.

There is extreme cases of like say Karthus buys CD and resells it. But that would mean he's sitting on fountain for all that time, and waiting for an ultimate which really isn't that beneficial. Although thought they coded it that if u use a skill on fountain that there is no refund option on items.

I hate having bought 20% or even 30% CD after using my ult, only to find that my ult cd won't decrease for the almost 2mins its on cd.

Auryiel11/19/2015, 5:15:55 PM1 votes

Would be nice, but I mean they can't even give us the possibility of moving around mastery/rune pages, so...

So essentially you want to have "cooldown speed" and have it scale off of your cdr along with retroactively affecting the cooldown of spells?

Yeah, but then you couldn't refund any item with CDR

AkabaneKun11/20/2015, 3:06:22 AM1 votes

Spaghetti code can't handle such things.

RattleKnight11/20/2015, 10:33:11 AM1 votes

nah, dont ask for things that does nothing. I time my skills easier with the current CDR.

Magearna11/20/2015, 11:43:37 PM1 votes

Love it. I've been wanting this for the longest. I buy distortion boots a lot but sometimes I find myself holding off on the purchase if my TP or Flash is already on cooldown and I could get it on another back. Dynamic CDR is right up my alley
