Poppy's W Mechanics & Who it effects

Dash

Can riot or anyone confirm exactly what "mechanics" will be considered dash? Or more specifically, who's dashes will be stoppable with Poppy's new W?

League Wiki: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Dash

League wiki breaks dash down into four categories: Auto-Targeted Dashes, Direction-Targeted Dashes, Ground-Targeted Dashes, and Unit-Targeted Dashes. Going further and saying that "All abilities that involve changing the location of the user via direct transit are classified as dashes, even ones that visually appear to be 'jumps', or utilize movement through the air - the game engine does not take into account the height of a unit so jumping units are considered to be on the ground for the purposes of skill shots and the like."

"Dashes should not be confused with knockbacks and pulls, which are usually sourced from enemy units (and are classified as crowd control"

Is the wiki list of champ dashes correct and is this a proper way to understand the dash mechanics? At first glance it seemed that Poppy's W was a very specific counter skill to a small pool of champs (Fiora, Riven, Renekton, Ahri, Lucian etc...), but if this list is correct, its a really big mechanic that stops nearly half the champs in the game. It's great to have a champ with this type of mechanic and gives teams a specific reason to choose poppy where they would have otherwise ignored her.

Just want to make sure I understand the mechanics and effect on the ecosystem a bit more.

Thanks for any and all replies! <3

To put it very simply, dashes are any kind of movement ability that do not consist of instantaneous movement. Aatrox Q, Trist W, Rek'sai Burrow, Vayne Tumble, whatever. It if moves you somewhere over a period of time, it's a dash. If it is instant, then it is a blink. Something like Zed's W/R or Ezreal's E would be blinks instead of dashes, and they would not be affected by Poppy's W.

I'm wondering something, since you mentioned Rek'Sai. If you use Void Rush and her W is up while she's by a wall and you collide into her, would you end up being right next to her, or on the other side of the wall? Or would there perhaps be a glitch where you end up getting stuck in the wall instead...oh gawd that'd be funny. I'm just asking because I'm fairly certain her Ult is a Dash.

Rek'sai's ult is a dash, but it makes her immune to disabling effects, so she'd go right through.

If you did do a dash and collided into Poppy halfway through a wall.... I don't know. You always get pushed back a little when you hit Poppy's W so I think you'd get pushed a bit into the wall and then you'd land wherever you were closer to.

Wait.

So what, did you think stuff like Tristana and Aatrox's movements were something like "Jumps" or "Leaps"?

Not necessarily, But i didn't know they were actually considered a "dash". When I think of dash I think of graves, lucian, fiora, riven etc... But it's useful to know that any user-initiated self-movement over time is considered a dash. I saw meddler say something about it stops Thresh lanterns too.

If you need a good comparison, the first cast of LeBlanc's W is a Dash. The second cast, when she returns to her original spot, is a Blink.

That makes sense, one has her moving through space over time vs the other instantaneously teleporting back. The part I didn't understand was that nearly any movement over time skill was considered a dash. (trist Q, rengar pounce, Jarvan banner etc..) That really opens up the possibilities for Poppy's W.
