So like...how is this "even"
https://gyazo.com/0bf5af0e2e6672b8080165ad766bb330 I'm the gold 5. I've had these types of games in ranked for the past...5-6 games? How is this fair to me...?

Because you're a beast playing with high Plat players or you could be matched up with bronze players in which sinking your MMR is just as good I suppose. Think about it like this, you're good enough to play with/against much higher players at your current rank, you're like a high school basketball player playing with like 2nd/4th year college players. It's tough I'm sure but be thankful that you. Just my thoughts on it tho, - you can say how dumb I am now if you so wish to do so.
In the hidden MMR system of ranked, this is actually good for you. Basically, you've performed so well that the system treats you as a Plat player rather than a Gold. If you maintain a positive winrate vs. these players, you'll get a lot more LP per win than normal, and you'll most likely skip divisions, climbing faster than you would if you were playing against other Golds.
On the other hand, if you lose for several games in a row against these players, your MMR will drop down to match your rank and you'll play against other Gold 5 players like you expect.
I understand that could be frustrating, but it's built into the system so you don't have to grind as long.
If you want to feel better about it, go to your op.gg profile and click the button at the top that says "Solo MMR." Right now it shows that you are being matched with other players as if you were Gold 2, and if you continue to perform just as well as you have been doing, you'll quickly climb to that division.
Is this Flex 5v5 or Solo/Duo 5v5? If it's Flex 5v5, then the players you're playing with are probably lower ranked in Flex than they are in Solo/Duo. I've been playing a lot of Flex as a solo lately and almost everyone I encounter is Gold or low Platinum in Solo Queue. Most of the people are lower in Flex than they are in Solo/Duo.
If it's solo, then your MMR is just great, and you should be getting a lot of LP for these matches. You could also have great MMR in Flex too if this is Flex.
Round 1: Your rank is COMPLETELY MEANINGLESS for the purpose of matchmaking.
Round 2: All that matters is the hidden number called Match Making Rating (MMR), formerly "ELO".
Round 3: Your rank only matters when it comes to season rewards (so at he very last day) and when you are losing or earning LP.
Bonus stage: Each rank and tier has let's call it a predetermined value - if your MMR is above that value you will gain more and lose less LP, if your MMR is below that value you will gain less and lose more LP.
Now! Fight your rival! To get demoted between tiers (Diamond, Platinum, etc.) your MMR must reach a level of a whole tier lower. In other words to get demoted from Platinum 5 your MMR would have to be around Gold 5 to even consider it.
From the looks of it your MMR could be around Gold 3 which I don't believe is enough to skip divisions.
At least there weren't any diamonds in there like when I play my Silver 1 Flex queue... -_-
