Another ranked ARAM request

I'm sure these posts occur every few hours throughout the day, and here's another one! My rationale being: a player that's totes supreme with one particular champ is lovely, but a player that can rise through the ranks and become top dog with ANY champ shows much more commitment and all-around skill. You're boss with Thresh? Awesome. What about when Thresh isn't an option? What about when you're stuck with Evelyn? Can you still dominate? THAT would be a much more impressive feat.

Not too sure why you felt the need to remark in this way but it had to be reported. Please don't refer to something as "retarded" just because it's an idea you don't agree with. It's completely unnecessary, offensive, hurtful, and wrong.

I think it would be fun to actually be able to see how good you are at ARAM. And that's what playing League is for, to have fun. So why not?

Right on! It wouldn't necessarily have to be ranked in the same manner that Summoner's Rift is, either. A different way of ranking could be developed for ARAM.

Aram is completely RNG based and not skill based in any sense. This is coming from someone who's played 80% of his total games on ARAM

I certainly agree that the champ selection is random(ish) but the skill comes from being able to play/dominate with any champ. I, too, spend the vast, VAST majority of my time playing ARAM. Mostly because I just don't feel like the various fighting that comes from Summoner's Rift. "OMG why won't you gank my lane! This supp sucks! Top stop feeding!" etc. If one person is able to play every champ so well so as to carry an entire team, against the odds (those odds being Vegas-worthy, at times), it should be recognized. SR tends to highlight the Jack-of-all-trades, Master of one but what about those few individuals that have mastered all?

If ARAM was to ever had a ranked system, it would have to have all champions unlocked for it. Also as people mentioned, it is heavily based on RNG to really have a ranked system anyways.

All champions unlocked, or perhaps a select number? 50 (for example).

The Ranked ARAM we will ever have is "The Poro King" game mode that comes out every once in a while. Everyone plays long ranged champs or champs with serious burst. So it doesn't really make a lot of sense to make a ranked mode for ARAM because it doesn't show ANYTHING except your chance at winning at a champ you've never played before.

BUT that's the beauty of a ranked ARAM. If someone has acquired 100+ champs and has managed to master them all and can demonstrate that in some manner, shouldn't they be recognized for it? If nothing else, from the perspective of Riot, it's a good opportunity to show their support of the players that are truly devoted (perhaps too much so, but who are we to judge?).

In ARAM it's more about which team rolled a more cohesive team comp than individual skill.

I'd personally like to have a draft mode for Howling Abyss. I want a higher level of strategy on that map.

ARAM and Twisted Treeline seem to be left out in the cold. Look at the recent string of missions as an example. True, missions are a new element of LoL so perhaps that will change next season. Regardless, LoL has three maps and three ways to play but only one gets the spotlight.

Ranked ARAM would be great, and most of these complaints are baseless. RNG wouldn't invalidate skill in ranked because ranked uses a ladder system, and the impact of RNG is minimal when considering a (large) number of games on said ladder. RNG would be a concern in a tournament setting with a small number of matches, but that's not what we're discussing.

Of course, there'd need to be a few topics to sort out (e.g. bans, rerolls, promos/placements), but the concept itself is sound.

Ranked, in some manner, is probably what I should have said. Hindsight is 20/20! How ARAM gets "ranked" doesn't necessarily have to be based on the same criteria as Summoner's Rift. Why should it? The rules are different. So, make the ranking rules different!
