I play Kog or Sivir whenever I get autofilled or my friends want me to play adc, but I really end up easily dying to her because of traps or headshot damage. The better the player, the harder it is to even do anything whatsoever.

you can use her spell shield to get free mana from her traps , use it to block her ult. also sivir wave clear will push right back at caitlyn making it almost impossible for her to push you under turret
kog in lane is bad vs cait, he has to scale. after laning phase as long as you didnt feed her you will hard out scale.

her head shot is on a counter, i believe its every 8 autos, or 4 if in a bush or if you step a on a trap or get hit with her E .
if cait uses her headshot passive on you she is going to draw minion agro. and this would be the time to trade back cuz her most damage tool is just used.

Acemaster811 votesI have another question then, there was one match I had last week where she was the midlaner while I was playing 
. This player obviously knew what they were doing and I've never lands against her in mid. I tried to move left and right to evade her net but annoyingly enough they always put a trap where I was trying to go. Should I have tried to play more aggressively or play a bit safer? It's hard for me to know in what seemed to be an unusual matchup.

OtterlyLost1 votesAs someone else mentioned, Sivir hard counters Cait. Take fleet and just perma push her. Cait wins lane by pushing her laner into tower and then harassing them under it. If you're pushing instead, she will struggle to harass because then she has to choose between gaining gold from minions and hitting you. Furthermore, if she does it when she has a big wave stacked against her, it will do a lot of damage.
For her Q, its actually pretty easy to dodge and you do take reduced damage when it goes through minions, which most Caits if they're being pushed in will be trying to use Q to push their wave back out instead. Her traps, Q, ult, and net are all spell shield able.
