Yeah they go into he portal into a guaranteed stun that only first time Bard players can miss, also they go out of position in unfamiliar teritory or sometimes baited. Utility supports like Bard, Janna, Nami, Lulu are very godlike at escaping because they can throw cc at the people chasing them or speed themselves up, you cant really catch a bard or a janna maybe only if they are out of mana.

Other supports do have dashes, like braum who can jump on allied units, or alistar and thresh, they can dash to enemy and neutral units like a minion or to a jungle camp. Even leona can escape from the middle of the enemy team by using e on an enemy champion closer to a safe point.

Ye but ward jump would be too unconditional escape for support, providing him with safe vision control without risk of being caught. Thresh still has to hit something with Sentence to be able to escape. Same with Alistar. It would give him too much of a roaming potential and ganking power for support
