Winning and Losing IP in Ranked

One thing I'm sick and tired of in playing ranked matches is how much IP you get or lose when you win or lose matches. When I first started playing ranked this year, I started at Silver I. But, due to trolls, afk's, and teammates that just outright suck, I've dropped all the way down to Bronze V. And it's nearly impossible trying to get back up because you get less IP for winning than how much IP you lose for losing. It's one thing if you lose a match and you have a full team and everything, but how is it fair to lose so much IP if you have an afk? I try so hard and no matter how many times I win, I eventually get that one game where everything just sucks and it's like I have to start all over again. Trying to win promotionals is annoying enough (and there always seems to be a troll in the few promos I've made it to but it's near impossible to even get to them if one loss sets you back so far, especially when there's almost nothing you can do about it if there's an afk or something. I think you should lose a little less IP from losing in general but even less if you're team had an afk, and whoever afk'd should lose the full amount of IP that he would have lost if he had stayed.

You get less IP and lose more because your win rate is poor so get that up.

Seriously, I'm only Gold but I've played in Bronze 5 (on a different account) and it's pretty simple. Like I can win 90% of my games there easily. So it's probably just you making mistakes you don't realize so let go of that ego and buckle down on what you're doing wrong. Also just play one champ you're good at over and over again to wreck and climb easily out of Bronze.

I try my best to try and focus on one champ, but sometimes have to go for the counter picks or try to comply to what kind of champ the team needs. But, sometimes no matter how good I do in the match we still end up losing. One time I went like 20/5 with Nasus and absolutely dominated my lane, but eventually had to abandon it because the rest of the team was feeding the enemy so much. I do admit, I make some pretty dumb mistakes though lol. But not like astronomically game changing. And thanks for clearing up the win rate/IP ratio thing.

See, Bronze/Silver focuses on counter picks way too much. If everyone sucks with everything, counter picks don't mean anything. I can probably destroy a Bronze Annie with Yasuo because she won't know how to use her stun passives correctly, yet in theory she should wreck you.

And I've had a ton of games where I was super fed but my team was just too stupid. That happens every once in a while but if it happens too much then just means you needs to improve your tower pushing and Dragon/Baron calls because that wins you games as well. Nasus isn't very good in Bronze because it relies on a more mid/late game--from my experience a bruiser that's super strong early game gets the game carried (personally my Vi can carry very well, she's a good example of a champ that destroys lower ELOs).

Yeah, Nasus is countered really easily. I will only pick him if I'm facing someone that I know I will do well against.

U didnt drop to bronze due to bad teammates. You dropped because u were bad player. But you ego wont let u admit it. And reason why u cant get back, is that you cant accept that you are bad so u dont improve.

So you're saying that everyone that I play with is always good and I just suck even when I'm carrying the game...

It's more that you clearly aren't doing anything with your 20/5 lead to win the game. Kills don't take objectives.

I'm usually the one telling my teammates that unfortunately... I'm always looking to take objectives, especially towers. That 20/5 I destroyed all but the inhib tower because it got to the point where most of their team had to come up and kill me. I get that I'm not the best player, but that doesn't mean I'm not experienced enough to know what I'm doing. I'd actually been playing normals for two years before I decided to do my first ranked match this year.
