Yas ult was coded too work off any displacement, then self-displacements were changed to not count as airborne.
Since the displacement isn't coming from Ashe, it Probably still has the "airborne" tag. This should be tested with Anivia and Trundle for consistency.

My money is that it's just how the code is and changing the code would require resources that they don't want to spend on something as small as this. I mean yes this can be a big deal but how often does it happen? You'd have to have an ally Taliyah and an enemy Yasuo and she'd have to ult into his wind wall. It happens but I doubt it's on their to-do list

According to wikia, here's the list of skills you mentioned that are blocked by Yasuo's wall according to wikia: -Ivern's Q -Maokai's Q and E -Nautilus's Q -Nocturne's Q -Orianna's Q -Poppy's ultimate -Xerath's E
All these skills mention "This ability is considered as a projectile for Unbreakable and Wind Wall" if you click on "Ability Details".
There's no mention on Illaoi's E if it's a projectile blocked by Braum's E and Yasuo's W, but I think Yasuo's wall would block it.

for instance, a team with yasuo against a team with miss fortune. Miss fortune has to wait for yasuo to die before she can pop her ultimate otherwise he can neutralize it and any hostile actions for its short time

It isn't stopped because it does damage or is a threat, it is stopped because it is an effect, that has a travel time, that happens to leave a wall behind it. The fact that it has a travel time(and is not a unit) means it is a projectile, which is stopped by wind wall and unbreakable. They didn't rewrite the code to specifically exclude that interaction, because it would be more work for... is there even any payoff here? And look at it from the opposite end, if your change went though, would it fair that Taliyah should be able to construct a wall over half of the map without any way to counteract it? No, it wouldn't.
Not to mention, as far as lore goes, Yasuo trained Taliyah. Surely in the months he trained her, he learned a few tricks that allowed him to counteract her actions.

But yeah fuck his wall, it's got no business being up for so long after he uses it. At least champs like Braum are centered around doing that. And champs like sivir and nocturne have to time their spellshields just right in the heat of battle.
