Was flamed for mentioning I would be honoring the support

So as the title says, I was playing in a normal where I was trying to get my usual mid lane practice. Now everyone on my team was pretty much chill except for the jungler who called me bad at TF after I gave first blood up. Now the game went as usual, adc did well, top lane did alright, I was probably the one doing the worst and by that I only died once in lane. My jungler ganked a couple times and all that good stuff but later on (I will admit I was being dumb here) flashed into 4 of them to get a low health target and run away. I knew I was dead but the support flashed in after me, used everything, shields and heals and even redemption and thats when I typed in chat that Soraka deserved to be honored. This triggered my jungler to flame and complain that he was carrying the game through ganks and counter jungling and yadadada. At the end game lobby, soraka was given 3 honors and it showed which caused our jungler to flame even more and call me an idiot.

TLDR:

Remember to honor your supports guys, you may not realize it when they use everything to save you because you are so focused but please honor them. I know first hand I wouldnt have won half of my games if I didnt have those supports

edit:

soraka was also very deserving of the honor with a large amount of assists and even was the reason my adc didnt die at all and did well

you are what leagues players should be like. I don't like seeing the person with the most kills always being the one with honors.

honors should be based on what you feel not what you see, if you feel your jungler did well even though they might not have ganked that much but stole 2 dragons and herald then honor them. likewise if your support pulls a full team stun or saves your whole team from being killed (not taric and his bs ult) without taking a single kill (like a good support.... -_-) then honor them

I main support and I love when people actually say thanks when I help them ^_^

:D

Gonna be the dickweed but I just can't stand for hypocrisy. The junglar was kinda right to be upset with you not because you didn't honor him but because you made a stupid play and the support wasted alot of resources to try to save you for a very silly mistake when the resources could have been saved for a more detrimental purposes.

The junger was in the wrong too for being so childish about it but your team was kinda in the wrong too for honoring the support just to spite the junlger.

There is a difference between carrying and being honorable. If you carry and are honorable at the same time, more power to you. But even if you load up all 4 allies into some mega-military-sized super rucksack and beat the enemy nexus to death with your bare hands to win the game for them, its not honorable if you're flaming the whole time or expect them to honor you for it. A lot of people equate carrying with being honorable when its just as possible to be an honorable loser as it is to be a carry that is a complete dick.

I'll honer who i want to honer. I do not want this to turn into overwatch's post game cards where no one but the support gets points because they played support, if the support is going to be honered by me then its cause its a good support.

This is something that I feel hinders me, I will usually die trying to save someone else. For some reason its hard for me to just say "fuck em" and bail on them. I'm not even a support main either.

I always notice my supports when they make such an awesome play/saves but sadly they don't always get honors every game unless the ADC enjoyed playing with him/her.

Janna (1/5/33)- you're welcome jarvan for saving you six times in a row and getting myself killed to save you

JarvanIV (14/5/2)- lul report this int noob janna

jarvan was the most honorable player on their team

AJStarhiker8/31/2017, 9:16:08 PM4 votes

I've had games where I honored the worstplayer on the team for staying cool and reported the "best" player for abusive language (assuming the first player didn't get baited into an arguing)

Whenever I play bot, adc or support, I almost always honor my lane partner. For putting up with me of course :^)

I'm in no way condoning your jungler flaming you but...

I would be tilted as fuck if I was playing jungle and trying to impact the entire game, and my mid laner, whom I've already ganked multiple times, said, "I'm going to honor soraka" for jumping in with them into an entire team like a couple idiots. If one player makes some sort of dumb decision like 1v4ing, you generally cut your losses and try to hold the map 4v5 til they come back. If another player jumps in after them to die together in a glorious display of cooldowns, that's usually bad. They'll both die and 3v5 you can't hold anything.

Soraka sits on her adc and presses w (and q if she really feels like working out her pinky) all game with the least interactive and skill expressive gameplay of all champs, except maybe janna. So yeah, if my mid laner bothered to type into chat they were going to honor them after I've tried to help them, I would be salty. He probably took it as, "Soraka is playing better than everyone else."

TL;DR: you didn't get flamed for honoring the support, you got flamed for making sure everyone knew you thought soraka was playing the best on your team. It's just annoying to some people. Especially after she does something that is a BAD idea.

I never honor support because they hardly ever do anything. I honor a tilted ass yasuo that ends up popping off and carrying us.

Mizuki Zahra8/31/2017, 8:05:05 PM2 votes

i didnt even asked to be honored but i pilled some totes bs raka heals in a team fight and got the flag, which caused the top laner to flip shits one me post game that he carried etc and i was a noob cause he had more kills and cs than me therefore he deserves honors

AuraCreed8/31/2017, 8:44:54 PM2 votes

Always the best feeling as a support when you manage to save someone from a bad spot (or from their bad decisions). Always love supports that save my stupid ass too.

DariusDemiurge9/1/2017, 12:27:19 AM2 votes

I don't blame em for bashing you when you didn't honor the real hero, ardent censer.

Cavesloth9/1/2017, 12:47:37 AM2 votes

If I had more upvotes you'd get them. It sucks when you are killing as support keeping people alive securing kills, and then the ADC you carried on your damn back gets all the honors.

SanKakU9/1/2017, 1:07:59 PM2 votes

One thing I notice is that if I do something that isn't the norm, it's a lot more unlikely I get honored for the game.

My last 2 Annie games, I was in the support slot both times...I got grade A as Tank Annie and grade A- as Mage Annie. I won with Tank and lost with Mage. Guess which game I got 2 honors in while the other game got me zero? ...Mage.

And you may wonder what my K+A/D numbers were? 6.5 for tank, and 2.555_ for Mage. Despite having a significantly better performance and a win, I still didn't manage to get half the honors. And my behavior really wasn't any different. People just chose to acknowledge the higher kill count of the Mage game even though the death count was very high. Of course, it was still the lowest on the team, but that's beside the point.

LordGeovanni9/1/2017, 12:23:56 AM1 votes

more of this and less Being ignored when i ping drag when the enemy recalled for 3 pieces of cs and i might still play support secondary no matter how weak they feel.

I had it happen earlier -- I was playing Ivern in the jungle, and I was trying to be everywhere. Never died, had quite a few assists and total jungle control. Our hard-carrying Zed at the end of the game goes, "gg. everyone better honor that Ivern."

Everyone did. I felt great. I need to grab the replay so I can get some of those team fight clips for later.
