Does this work? Its so funny, I hope it does
Pure AP (currently lvl 14 so that means 14 masteries and a half of tier 2 rune page)

Also, what is the fastest way to level 30? Only got 3 levels in this week.

Oh! Also, while getting CS farm at mid I focus on slamming the other champion (I get either Q or E depending on if they are squishy or not). Should I ignore pounding them and just focus on cs farm instead? So far I have managed (unranked of course) to get a pair of first bloods. If yes, at what point should I drop farming and take up roaming?
hmmm.......
Since no one else has posted, I will - but be warned - i am bronze :D
GET ALL DAT CS. That said, if you can position constantly to poke the opponent while doing so, you are already doing great!
Roaming is important towards the end of laning phase (as you approach the first turret destructions) - so roam as soon as you are fairly certain you can get a kill bot/top and help push down a turret.
As Turrets drop, the 'safe area' the enemy has diminishes (as you have likely noticed, if you are in trouble, you generally run to a turret. If the outer turrets are down, you have further to run, and are more likely to die.) - with the smaller safe area for them, your team gains map control, and can leverage this into better roaming, ganks, and counter jungling - but most important are Dragon and Towers. Once you have an advantage, pressure (but safely, if that makes sense) and split push. You can generally leverage a slight lead into large gold, map control, and objective differentials if you have good team work and choices.
If I am giving any wrong advice here, higher elo players may feel free to step in and say so.
=D Glad to know I am doing well with the pokes. I feel guilty...I don't run to turrets, I run to bushes....and wait for cooldowns....because I'm an evil person who uses Ahri's passive to heal o.O. Thanks for the tips on map movement. Trying to do more pvp, so this is all very helpful =D
One more thing: PvP games grant more XP and IP. So play them, if you are not already. The other thing is to play often.
If you see the enemy bot or top lane pushing towards your side of the map, rape their faces off. Otherwise, farm. People won't bother warding for a while, not until probably after you hit level 30, so go ham, sir. Also, this build is f**king hilarious, I can imagine it now XD
Back when I started playing, I built Thresh with a madred's razor and a Nashor's Tooth, and basically only played duo with my friend that played Cho'Gath. The nostalgia.
It'd be ballsy, and any game you lose once you get up with people who've been playing the game for more than a few months you'll get yelled at for this build, but if you can work with this, go ahead, m8. Gotta show those people that only copy the pros that the only real troll build is Manamune Aatrox.
Runs up behind you then you get hit by a giant blue orb and notice that suddenly, you are running very slowly. You then notice a giant chunk of your health is gone. Flash gets popped, Ahri is still closing in- you get hit by the R that was already pre-procced with W. Ignite lands on you while you have 6% hp and you run to safety, right next to the steps of your base. And fall flat on your freaking face. =D This would be awesome.
High-speed and stealth raids scare the crap out of people at your level. If you can find a duoqueue partner, team up Shaco or Twitch with Zilean; if he puts a bomb on them while they're invisible, the bomb will be, too! I don't think they even see the explosion. The more advanced version uses Orianna instead of zilean; her ball turns similarly invisible, making her Ult an unpleasant surprise. She's really hard to play, though, so you might want to try her out beforehand.
By way of movespeed, there's always Hecarim and his sonic crit; his AD scales of his movement speed, so just stack all of it you can get and start running people over! Extremely entertaining.
This ninja Ahri build, tho. I actually almost lol'd when I realized what I was looking at the first time. I'm bad at champions like her, so take some unsuspecting chumps down for me out there ;)
Will do. As for the champion suggestions, fell in love with this one because the Charm spell is amazing- "Come to me, and while you do, lemme do 20% more damage all of over your face". That and I am used to running for my life so the ult was perfect. Who needs boots when your ult is on 58 second cooldown XD.
Focus on farming always, slam them if they move out of position, and poke them with Q as often as you can, whilst farming with it at the same time. Roam after you have killed/shoved your opposing laner and your tower is in no threat and another lane is losing, otherwise farm your jungles wraiths if you can, otherwise B for HP, mana and items.
I say to focus on farm over kills because farming is a reliable method of getting money, whereas killing your opponent relies on your pick, their pick, your skill, and their skill.
TL DR, farm, then kill, roam when your objectives are safe.
I didn't mean for it come off that I didn't farm as I did this, just that as I farmed I hit the opponent (Orb pierces and sometimes minion hp drops really slowly). Is it a good idea for me to keep doing what I'm doing- rotate around minion farm (ranged, so I'm not in the minion dance party) towards the other mid laner as soon as I hit level 2 that way I can chain them (after I make sure to half the minion count for $$) with Auto, Auto, Charm, Orb, Auto, Exhaust, Auto, Ignite (usually, unless they hit flash). Also, thanks for helping me figure out how to midlane better. Wasn't sure what I was supposed to do when I was in between the too weak to farm the lot solo and so strong I orb them all dead in one go.
What you are saying about farming with Q and poking is right, exactly what you should do, although the all in at 2 is IMO a little risky and opens you up for a good gank potential. If you can do it without burning both sums perfect, otherwise I would suggest that you try to save one so that you still have that up your sleeve if needed. If you even just get them low enough that they have to B you get a huge advantage in lane as is.
I suggest
instead of
if you aren't playing VS a heavy AD comp (IE a
or
mid with an AD fighter top, like
or
) because this allows more mobility instead of reducing their MS and AD.
On the note of AD heavy (thanks for the tip on not burning sum spells, going to see what happens with flash instead), how should I push lane if I somehow get a range adc like Vayne or Caitlyn? Hasn't happened too often, but it bothers me because I have to push them off the lane so I can go shopping for AP otherwise I get blown off most of my hp when they poke.
Also, should I still slot Flash if I can manage to get my ult (flashX3 basically) below 60 seconds? Usually its like 58 or 59 seconds and flash is around 180 to 240 (cant remember the actualy number).
Flash is really useful. It adds some unpredictability to what you're doing (flash towards an enemy then ult x3 to get all the damage off etc) and helps you survive pre-6.
Taking your advice, thanks a bundle =D
In that case push as hard as you can then ask your jungler to come and help you, that is about all you can do, unless you can blow them up first
You should focus on lining up your Q to set up good harass.
Here's a small exercise, ONLY last hit minions with your auto attacks so that (if the opponent is pushing his wave) the minions slowly build up and start pushing in your direction. Once you've done this, do your absolute best to line up as many minions as possible with your enemy laner, and try to hit all of them with a single Q. I call this an exercise because I want you to learn from what you are doing. See, if you set it up so that the minion wave is already pushing in your direction, this essentially means you can go nuts in terms of offense since at best, if all your abilities start deleting the enemy minion wave, you're just going to reset the lane. If timed well, you can get in tons of harass on your opponent while never putting yourself in danger. Obviously, this isn't a one size fit all technique, but it's one you want to get the hang of as Ahri. Long story short, learn how to harass your opponent both efficiently and without putting yourself in danger. There are a few other things you might notice about the exercise, hope you can pick them up (^ ^).
Generally speaking however, you want to have either equal to or more farm than your opponent. If you are far ahead in CS and you have the resources (in this case, mana) to harass your opponent, go crazy (so long as you don't accidentally shove your lane). If you are tied or falling behind, you need to buckle down and actually get that CS.
It would take approximately 25-35 seconds for Ahri with tier 1 boots to get from the very middle of the map to one of the corners. In order to make a round trip, throwing in some extra time to accommodate for any complications you have during your roaming/ganks, this means that approximately three minion waves will pass by. In other words, one roam will cost you approximately 19 CS. Depending on how long the game is, that amounts to a little over 1 kill, and a little less than 1 kill+1 assist.
Basically, if you have 17 or more CS more than your opponent, roam. You are beating your opponent severely, and even if you have an unsuccessful gank and are unable to get a kill, you will be about even with your opponent by the time you get back. On the other hand, because you can draw a net positive from a successful gank as Ahri, you want to roam to any lanes where there is an easy kill. Between Ahri's E and R, it's extremely easy to set up powerful ganks and kill people off. With a bit of teamwork and giving that assist gold to somebody else, your team as a whole will benefit from you roaming. In other words, if there is an easy kill, feel free to roam for it if you are sure you can secure the kill.
I am working on CS a lot, and this helped a bunch. 2nd to last paragraph math time 3 waves= 9 melee 9 spell casters and 1 heavy? I haven't really been keeping track. Anywho- (920) + (917) + (41 or 42)= 180 + 153 + (41 or 42)= 374 or 375. Thats a lot of money..... About the gank- even if I fall behind by like 6 to 10 CS (since I use a $/time item with), would being able to shut down 1 opponent not be helpful (fall behind because I left my lane)? It helps push a lane and knocks the other person out for at least 10 seconds. Thanks for helping with all this.
375 gold is a lot of money...but 450 gold is even more.
See, a successful kill is 300 gold, and an assist is half of that, 450 in total. If you are successful in getting a kill+assist, it's virtually guaranteed that your roam is an overall profit from the 375 gold you lost worth of minions.
If you fall behind, but only a little (1 wave at most, for example), then it's definitely still worth it. Often times, even a failed bank would disrupt the target by a whole minion wave. If you can force that guy behind a wave while only falling behind your own lane opponent by one wave, I think it's a fair trade. (Make sure you are at least 12 cs more than your opponent laner if you attempt this though).
Is there a particular goal to this build, or are you simply going with the somewhat typical AP Assassin Ahri build?
I don't have much experience with it but the goal is to have the near instant gank and ability in a team fight if someone backs off (I seem to be getting much better at hitting orb, charm is still iffy) that they are dead anyway. I didn't know there was a typical AP build >.>. .... link? Thanks =D
Ahh, generally Ahri wants to rush Deathfire Grasp, then get large amounts of AP and Magic Penetration. As I mentioned, Ahri is more of an AP Assassin who focuses on front loading a sh-tton of magic damage through her abilities, meaning that the pure damage stats (AP and Magic Pen) are extremely important, while other stats like CDR or mana take a slight backseat.
http://www.solomid.net/guide/view/34307-ahri-build-guide-apc-by-varph Here is a guide from solo mid. If you look over the recommended items, you will see TONS of AP (All three of the base 120 AP items) and Magic Pen (Sorc shoes and Void Staff), like I suggest.
Thanks for the guide. =)
lol no boots and no magic pen. Not going to work very well.
Wait you have a support item... What the hell?
My ult is my speed boost. Abyssal Scepter reduces magic resist by a flat percentage. The support item has a bunch of good stats- regen, move speed, CD reduction, team based speed boost if you need to keep them alive to gank the other team when they get away from turrets. Also with the speed boost, once I land my charm or orb they will move more slowly than me (tested, without it they can still get away).
When casting your spells, are your enemies close enough to be in Abyssal Scepter's AoE? (I have no idea, you might want to check on the Wiki.)
I'd say that what I'd consider a standard-ish Ahri build would be
. Athene's gives all the mana regen you'll ever need as well as 20% CDR and some AP. DFG's got a good assassination active (Ahri's a mage-assassin), Zhonya's has a load of AP and a potentially life-saving active. Total 637 AP (Rabadon's passive), 30% CDR, 15 flat MPen, 35% Mpen, tons of mana regen, and odd bits and pieces of armor and MRes.
Feel free to build whatever you want, but I'd encourage you to look through all the items I specified. It looks like you already know how to use active items, so good job. Happy Ahri playing!
Thanks for the tips. Also, thank you for the warning. Honestly, the stats and the passive (since I am trying to get my CS higher) were a bit of a crutch help. Last question, do I NEED boots? (I plan on swapping out exhaust for flash) Or is there a better item I can get? When I swap out the talisman now, I am debating boots or an item like the one above (Athene's). I'd prefer not to waste a spot on boots if I can grab something that has more fight effectiveness (either engage or staying power).
My usual play style is that I am hyper aware of map presence on allies and visible enemies. Usually I can see them when they go off lane and out of that 80/90% I can guess about 50% where they are headed(getting used to players being a little different from bots still). Might be why CS is so low, it's that I'm eyeing the minimap the whole game as much as my character. Anywho, thanks again for all the help. Going to go try to apply some more of what I have read here.
@KChaosrei- what happens at lvls 20/30? Is there a sudden spike? Also, I got a couple of runes/glyphs/seals even though im not able to get tier 3. Its just I know the champ I wanted. Will I be able to override my tier 2 junk with the tier 3 stuff? Thanks ^^
Generally, everyone buys boots, no exceptions, since mobility is valuable. With Sorcerer's Shoes, you also get flat Magic Penetration, which makes your damage go up.
At level 20, you get to buy Tier 3 runes. At level 30, all rune slots are open and you get to play ranked. You can't override/upgrade Tier 2 runes for Tier 3 ones. Tier 1 runes are kind of worth it, Tier 2 ones are not worth it. Just wait for Tier 3 to be available for you. Spend your IP on champs before that :)
Trust me you are doing it very wrong. Your ult is a repostion/chase tool. You are going to get chased down without boots.
You are using a support item to have temp speed boost. You are going to get a wake up call around level 20 to 30.
