So I have a question

So I have been playing some ranked, and I am winning majority of all my most recent matches 70% to be exact and for some reason my mmr won't regulate. so even though I am and always have been winning more than I lose consistently I am making less LP because it thinks I am higher than I should be in tiers compared to my mmr. I am more interested in knowing why my mmr won't regulate since I am consistently winning than anything. Yes I have played so duo recently 8 matches to be exact all wins, and yes I have also played solo recently 5 matches 3 wins 2 losses. This is the only reason I can think of why my mmr might be screwy. However OP.GG when I calculate my mmr isn't saying anything about how it can be influenced by duo's which typically happens if you have a lot of recent duo history.

TL;DR: LP/MMR system confuses me halp meh understand.

op.gg says your MMR is higher than your league. What makes you say that your MMR isn't going up?

Interesting it says it is nearly 120 lower for me also I am averaging 14-17 lp per win.

What is your LP loss each game?

I don't actually know, lol.

If it's in the same range or slightly higher (1-2 points), then your MMR is right where it's supposed to be. That's the only real way to tell. op.gg is a good reference, but since no one really knows the formula, it's only an estimation.

I always thought that the representation of a healthy MMR was if you won more lp than you lost. For instance win 24 lose 14 kind of thing.

If your MMR is exactly at the midpoint of your league, then you'll win the same amount as you lose. This is because the goal of MMR is to put you where you belong. So if you are exactly where you belong, you'll win 50% of your games (more or less) and remain exactly where you are. That means that to climb, you have to get better.
