A Grave suggestion for CertainlyT: Buying Shells and a Cigar.

First off I would like to say that these changes to Graves look interesting and would be looking forward to using that shotgun. However there was a thought that came to me and I wanted to share it with everyone to hear their thoughts and maybe...just maybe...it can come true.

What is the thought? **Buying extra Ammo Shells for Graves. **

So Graves now has 2 shells in Destiny and when the 2 attacks are used, he has to reload before attacking again. I was wondering if we, the players, can buy up to 2 more shells in the shop for Graves during games to have him hold up to 4 rounds before reloading.

Now the positive is that Graves can attack up to 2 more times before having to reload, meaning that he can get more damage off at once, especially with attack speed. HOWEVER there is 2 big downsides to buying the shells. First is the price: The extra shells will not be cheap. I was thinking the First shell be 1000 gold and the 2nd shell be 2000 gold. So that is 3000 gold the player would have to chose to spend either buying an item, or buying more rounds for his auto attacks. The second downside would be the reload time itself. More shells means more for Graves to load into Destiny, which in turns means a longer load time.

So in short

Prp: More auto attacks before reloading, more damage in a short time.

Con: Cost and longer reload time.

Now the con can be a little to costly for the pro, but that is where the last new item for Graves can come in. If you buy both ammo shells, you can get a special item for Graves called the "Lucky Cigar"

"A 'Lucky' Cigar given to me by TF back when we were a crew. I vowed not to light it until he is dead" - Graves.

As I thought here, this would be an interesting item for Grave cause of both his past with TF, and the whole "Graves can't have a cigar" meme. So what does this item do if you get it? Well....How about this:

Unique Passive-Lucky Destiny: When Graves begins to reload, there is a X% chance that all 4 rounds are loaded immanently

As you can see, the Cigar can add a little luck to Graves in that there can be chances were he can fire up 8 times with little to no reload times, but if it fails, he has to reload normally which can take time.

So again this can all come down to the player choice: Either they can spend the gold to take a chance on instant reloads and more auto attacks or spend the gold on items and keep Graves ammo and reload smaller.

Thoughts welcome.

Edit: I forget to mention that the ammo shells and the cigar wouldn't take up a slot. They would be like Rengar Necklace and appear about his picture.

I find your idea quiet interesting but it seems a bit too much like a Viktor passive where you give up a slot for a single item as a trade off. That trade off though doesn't see all that worth it at all in the long run though as you are giving up a potential slot for damage. Also there is the issue that is percent based and RNG might kick in really well one game leading to a cry for nerfs by disgruntled players since graves is lining up to be a burst gunman in the first place.

I think what would be better would be if the lucky cigar turned into a buff kind of like how various champions get buffs or debuffs based on who they are around like Zillian. Or maybe even have the cigar as something like Jinx's movespeed steroid where it will auto load only after Graves has killed a champion?

The ammo and the cigar wouldn't take a slot. It would just be above the ability like Rengar Bonetooth necklace.

An Auto reload after killing or assisting a champ..that could be interesting to have on the Cigar instead.

he works well without having to buy new shells honestly. He also reloads decently so. I'd much rtaher buy items then the shells, because me having already played graves on PBE love the damage he does currently, the shotgun mechanic is very interesting honestly.

But would you be against having this idea? Like say the game is really dragging on and you are already at full build, would you considered getting the extra shells and the cigar then?

I would be against the idea because then each of grave's attacks wouldn't be as strong if they had to balance around 4 shell. just look at how much damage he can output with just 3 autos(1 attack, E to reload, 2 attacks) to one target.

Nope i wouldn't not even when the games at the very end. I see no need for it, if you can already insta gib a person with 2 shells late game youd be dead by the 3rd so. And late game by the time my 2 shells are done im pretty much reloaded real fast afterwards and then keep shooting. lol the reload time isn't bad honestly. So no.

Ok then. Thanks for your honest opinion. :D

Shop upgrades to clip size could be interesting, but i think the purpose of the ammo is that it creates an ebb and flow unique to graves. His auto attacks also peel close range targets to some degree, so upgrading the clip could also become a balancing issue for say, a late game graves. On top of that, its also thematic based on his shotgun being a double barrel shotgun.

Yes it is a double barrel shotgun, but if you look in his pictures, he actually have multiple chambers to hold more then 2 shells at a time.

Well yes he has multi chambers, he shouldn't have to buy the extra shells though, he already gets a free shell when Eing i believe.

He reloads a shell. If you have a full barrel when you E he doesn't get 3 shots.
