So how does rng affect crit? Does rng randomly select your crit ratio or does rng affect your crit damage?

RNG = Random Number Generator Crit runs off %chance. This means that a Random Number Generator spits out number as you attack. every time that number is lower than your crit %, you get a critical hit dealing double damage.

This generator spits out numbers between 1 and 100. On a set of 10 auto attacks these numbers might look like:

1, 18, 90, 5, 23, 75, 60, 60, 44, 14

With 10% crit chance, you had 2 crits in 10 auto-attacks (higher than average!) As you saw, the RNG can spit out the same number multiple times in a row. The argument most people have against RNG is that it is unpredictable and therefore makes winning the game based on chance rather than skill.

Example: Two champs with equal damage and equal hp attack each other using only autoattacks. Having the same crit chance(10%), in 10 autoattacks one scores 3 crits while the other only scores one. The guy who randomly rolled a die and got 3 crits wins. There was no difference in skill or build. All it was, was luck.
