Picking your champ b4 queue actually starts sounds good but rito forgot that bronze and silver exist. Seeing the entire team layout is a good way to adjust your pick for better team synergy. It's risk to show your intentions, though, as someone could ban them just because they can. I'm not talking about the "you're third pick and they ban Fiora". That's a legit ban and you're not first pick. I'm talking about the "you're first pick and they ban Bard" (I don't play Bard), but I've seen it happen and people are dicks. Oh well, hopefully in higher elos it's not this way.

Edit: In thinking about this and knowing that the League community has a lot of dicks, I'm sure someone is going to say, "Of course I would ban Bard if someone wants him, he sucks". Banning a champ that someone wanted to play is a good way to lose because it leads down a slippery slope of negativity.
