Grading system needs to be a bit more lax or more complex.

Trying to get an S rank using Yorick for a month now. I manged to win a game and solo 3 dragons and a Herald using my Ultimate. Push my lane hard and still have decent KDa of like 7/2/17. And even used a few control wards. And i had decent farm. I get an A- for it. I dont even know hat exactly i have to do to get an S-. Get 300 cs while buying 50 wards and wi9nging a 1 v 5?

Seams to me that you can realy get an S rank if your enemy team is incredibly horrible and you manage to get disgustingly fed and dominate a game. Or if you are plying a support and the enemy team is not focusing you in fights so you end up having a high assist count and no deaths. This ironically means that in the games current state only way to get an S rank is if the enemy team is just shit. So basically caring and wining a game vs skilled opponents is considered a A- or a B+ But getting fed as Yasuo or other pub stomp champions in a match vs players who are playing something new for fun and not insta locking top tiers gets you S- and if they are particularity bad you can even get an S or S+. So basically ins not important how good you are to get an S rank its more about how bad your enemy team is. I think the current grading system needs a rework or at lest make chests or mastery tokens drop for an A+ at lest.

you do understand that the grading system compares you to other players playing that champ in that role... and to get an S- or higher you have to be in the top 5% of averages for that champ in that role.

that is how its based on. that is why when the grading system came out it was easier to get S grades then now that so many games have been played it compares your stats to those in the top 5% and see if you measure up. if not you dont get the S

How many fucking times do I have to explain this to people, I wrote like 500 posts and comments on this forum. THE. ONLY. THING. THAT. REALLY. MATTERS. FOR. YOUR. GRADE. IS. FARM. Having a good score? It helps sure, maybe its even necessary if you are playing an op champ. Putting a lot of wards? Doesnt do shit, 100% confirmed, I got S+ on Yorick without placing a single ward just to check. Killing objectives? Doesnt do shit, baron helps a little bit, but compared to having 10 cs/min its 0000000. Fuck I got S+ on Xin, first timing him by having 370 cs at 35 minutes as a jungler with a score of 3 7 8 and losing the game. If that doesnt tell you how retardedly important farm is compared to all other stuff except maybe KDA on some champs and kill participation on supports, then idk...

In order, as far as I can tell:

  1. CS. You're not getting an S without 200+ CS on anyone. Exceptions are junglers (who need at least 160) and supports (irrelevant for enchanters, 30+ for tanks). You want at least 250 to 300 on an ADC. I. Note that monsters stolen from the enemy's jungle is worth more for your score than any other CS.
  2. KDA. Specifically the Deaths part of that. A good benchmark is 7/3/11, my average KDA on Ahri. Obviously, not every role is getting 7 kills or 11 assists. But for every loss of 1 kill, you need 3 assists, and every loss of an assist requires 2 kills (so you could go 9/3/10, or 6/3/14, for example). You're pretty much screwed if you have more than 3 deaths (with some exceptions), and, AFAIK, there's no way in hell you're getting it with more than 6 deaths. These numbers will change depending on who you are (assassins need more kills, supports and true tanks more assists, etc.)
  3. Damage to objectives. You want to do around 4k damage to turrets (around half of each turret in your lane). More if you're a marksman or some champion that is supposed to do a lot of damage to turrets (such as Nasus). Less if you're a champion that usually does low damage to turrets (most enchanters, a good number of tank supports, and Sion).
  4. Vision score. This means using your yellows and blues, finding wards with sweeper's (if you get it), buying control wards, and destroying enemy control wards. 20 or so is all you really need, unless you're a support, jungler that buys tracker's knife, or someone like Kalista, Ashe, or Teemo, who have a lot of vision in their kit. I manage to hit enough vision every game just by pressing 4 whenever I can. I. Note that not all warding places are the same. There's a post on it, but tl;dr is that deeper and more spread-out wards mean more, and that shallower and denser wards mean less. A ward in your base has almost no value. A ward at their buffs is worth the most. Blue wards are worth more apiece than yellows (because it takes more than twice as long to get them), but are less efficient overall. And the longer a ward lasts, the more it's worth to the placer, and less to the destroyer.
  5. Whatever special things your champion does well. Do you have an enchanter? You need a lot of heals and shields. CC-bot? Need a high crowd-control score. Assassin? Better have insane damage totals. Whatever your particular champion does best, you need it to be highest.
  6. Average scores for that game. This is the least important, but it does take into account the averages of that game. If you have easily 4 times the CS and vision of everyone else, even if you don't have enough for your champion's average, you'll probably be fine. However, this is extremely limited. It's equatable to about 40 CS, 2 kills/assists, 800 damage, or 4 vision. It might bring you up a grade (A to A+, B+ to A-, etc), but it won't do more than that.

Support is pretty easy to get an s in...

jwebb01139/18/2017, 12:05:56 AM2 votes

basically as people get better and better at a champ and those who main a champ clearly out perform the average player on said champ they make it harder to get S grades cuz they are constantly improving what is needed for stats in a game to achieve the S grade

kinda like grading on a curve in school... 100 is the highest grade on a test 100 =S+ or perfect

and lets say all 30 kids in class take the test and the highest grade was a 92 so the teacher grades the test on a curve of 8...

so the 92 + 8 =100 and the 84+8 = 92 and so on and the kid that got a 63 and failed now gets a 71 and passes the test due to the curve

but if the best and smartest kid scores 100 on the test then the curve is 0 and the rest of the test is graded with a curve of 0. in this theory then the kid who got the 63 and failed still fails due to 0 from the curve

so how does this relate to the theory of grades in league?

well if the best of the best of that champ constantly put up higher and higher stats and KDAs you have less of a curve helping your score making it harder to get a better grade

How to get good grades: Ward as often as possible (which is a big one) Get a good number of kills OR assists Die as little as possible

CSing helps, but warding is worth more than CS because of supports. That also includes killing wards.

These 3 things are all you need to do.

Can't find the game you are talking about in your history match.

It's flawed, especially for tanky supports and for short games.

Sraeg20139/18/2017, 3:31:20 PM2 votes

The easy way to cheese the system is to play an off-role.

For example in case of Yorick it'd be mid or support, possibly jungling.

lul S is easy as fuck

i've found that getting an S is very hard to get without facerolling the enemy team. What i would recommend is up your farming- I was struggling to get S on kindred and someone told me to focus on farm more. I then got two S in a row right after that. What iw ould do is just focus on farming a lane for a solid 5 minutes while clearing jungle on both sides as long as my team could handle my "absence" (which we could cos everyone else was just as fed as i was). it can be a pain waiting for the perfect game but when you start facerolling take HUGE advantage of it- farm hard, don't die, place wards every time they're up.

I have played a game with a Jinx who was 2/5/5 in a 18 minute game with 85 CS who got an S-.

DariusDemiurge9/18/2017, 7:25:36 AM1 votes

Grading is fine, I got 2 S grades Saturday after just starting to play last weekend. To bad I'll never get keys with riot's new key system.

CS requirement is a bit much in most roles but git gud.

I dont think the grading systems cares about wards. As far as i know it cares about CS>Deaths>Kills>Assists in that order. easiest way to get an s on your favorite champ is to just play them in a lane they should not be and farm everything. Dont chase kills if you can get more farm 300 cs Almost guarantees an S on any champ so long as you did not die more than 5 times or something

thats how i got most of my mastery 7 champs, things like Camille mid and Leblanc support but i agree the grading system is shit, so impossible to get an S or S+ as some supports

Took my friend a few months and his mind to get level 7 Yorick.

Played him nonstop for months.

Just do it like me and farm your chests in ARAM.
