Anyone else having fun top lane?
I am.
5mins in, I look up at the score board and it's already 0-12. Have fun carrying that! Says riot. :)

I only play top lane when I don't care about whether I win or not.
I guess I don't ever care whether I win or not, then. xd
I'm the opposite. For some reason going 9/0 on adc I can't carry my team, but going Teemo 2/1 I can just shroom the map and let the enemies suicide.
I honestly just quit playing. I don't even know why I still hang around the boards. Haven't qued anything but adc in over a month. Hoping for some redemption with the bruiser runes but idk.
I mean pretty much every role and champion is helpless in that kind of stomp situation. Unless your playing
and can drag the game long enough for enemies to outplay themselfes.
I mean... idk, if your team is 0-12 and you're bot lane playing a scaling adc, even in farm and doing well you can still come back. However, that's not the same case the other way around. Top lane has 0 agency over the game. Mid lane right behind them. Jungler and bot lane is the most important as it stands. Gank your mid, get pressure, 4 man bot. That's how you win games.
Still somewhat depends on what champion your playing. If your playing
,and your team is feeding like that sure you are fucked, but if your playing something that actually scales, for example
, then you still have a chance.
Depends on what champ you play in top aswell. Surely
won't be able to do shit, when your team is getting stomped so hard, but if your playing something that actually scales, like
, you might have a chance.
I played a game yesterday vs
and
on the same team. From the champion select I already knew that game will be pain to close out. It took us 47 minutes and two barons to win that game. And honestly we probably would have lost if I wasn't playing
and constantly three shotting towers in splitpush situations.

5 minutes in? That means only about 3 more minutes until mid game.
Then I'll show you what a hard carry really looks like!
######(. . . As soon as I finish "rehabilitating" our problem child ADC.)
(Yes, these are my actual tops when playing SR.)
Trying to learn Riven currently, I think I'm 2 to 6 right now. I lose lane a lot, both due to my lack of knowledge and probably the champions. Nunu went AP but I maxed E so that wasn't too bad. GP traded with barrels so I lost those fights. Panth tossed Q. Ornn is Ornn. Singed used glue which I didn't realize stops half my kit because it's a ground. And Maokai got camped like crazy so I just got dived a bunch.
She's really cool but this lane is hard and the champion isn't helping.
Welcome to the Riven club. Let me help you out a bit:
PTA is useless
Electrocute is terrible
Unsealed spellbook is godlike especially vs all squishy teams
Vs a lot of tanks (jg and top both are tanks) take grasp if it's tanks you can easily trade into (malphite, sion, etc) or if it's juggernauts (garen, nasus) and aftershock vs a bit harder matchups where if you go all in for extended trades you're likely to die (darius - actually all I can think about atm)
Lethality isn't good for someone just starting riven. go old bruiser build. It's still effective and you don't die if you screw up hard
Also, take resolve tree until you get use to the champ so you can learn trade patterns. Grasp to learn how to properly trade and to keep track of multiple things at once so you learn how to multi task better (such as keep an eye on grasp timer so you keep it running, your skill cooldowns to see if you can go into proc grasp and get out safely etc). Also, take aftershock vs more pesky matchups like Teemo, Quinn, Jayce etc. It'll help you survive longer.
Almost always run inspiration 2nd tree for that stopwatch. You can take insight for more cdr or future's market to hit spikes faster, honestly depends on preference and matchup. Some prefer cdr on summoners while others prefer getting their items faster.
I know you didn't come to a lesson, but just thought I'd help a bit.
Top is an incredible bad lane right now where if you're not playing a tank to peel for your adc, you're useless mostly. You can have pressure, but it's still up to your team to do SOMETHING with the pressure you're getting for them. Which is why you don't have much say in the matter. :(
Aye I really appreciate the help. I've been slowly tilting sideways for a few days now, going from losing games being like 4 and 8 to 1 and 13. She's interesting and I can do some of the combos but fuck me. Like I can do the E double cast, or the flash third Q, or wall hop most things. I can even partialy.do the fast combo like once out of the three, maybe twice. But I don't know how to trade because I legit do not play anything but ADC and braindead tanks who don't need to understand good trading. I go in to trade and almost without a doubt I lose it because I don't understand how to do it. I'm not used to playing melee champions.

if you want i can give a little advice im not great but i have one tricked her for a long ass time
ofc its fun.
the real fun is to lane against teemo ur jungler go invade despite u having wave under turret (and u full ping him) teemo kill ur jungler have blue on him rush tabi > frozen mallet and ur jngler never come again
one of my games today
I just pick
or
and have fun. Both can win a team fight on their own through their ults and live to tell the tale due to the rest of their kit. Thats Top Lane right now. Carry the game by using really stupidly strong ultimates and if that doesn't work, stall it.
Top lane sucks if your champ isn`t the might of demacia who is secretly married to a Irish blade woman then you are gonna get countered and automaticlly lose lane. Espacilly if you are playing against range champs. Those basically get 10 min of free farm while you get nothing, while you pray you can kill them once you reach level 6.
Eh I just suck at playing top and split pushing, unless I'm playing tanky Champs. Maybe I should just play meta top laners. My normal mmr has bombed ever since I decided to play top, back to mid until I get matched with mostly golds it is.
I like top because I enjoy Mordekaiser but... It's really exhausting lately. I only have 1 ban, and it's either Illaoi or Teemo. No ifs, whenever I ban one the other one gets picked and they're both OP as hell. Any game without one of them is just an anomaly, they'll show up next game and I'm getting tired of having the same fights over and over again.
So, not even top is that fun right now. And it only makes me angrier to see 20 posts about Vayne here but no one talks about Illaoi., a tank that can poke and do massive damage at melee while still needing at least 3 people to take her down.
I don't even get bans. . . (>_>) (TT problems.)
Also, Illaoi can be beaten by walking away. She's a bit unique among juggernauts in that she's not only kitable, but also self-zoning. And the reason you need 3 people to take her down, is because her ult and passive get stronger based on how many people she hits. So there are times when she's actually happier in a 2v1 than a 1v1. I, personally, find that to be one of her most interesting components (from a design perspective).
I go top lane for fun because I have dunkmaster darius but other than that it's a winning lane but losing game.
I have fun when I go top.
Yeah I am having fun up there
I like my top to be dominant and not afraid to have a good time.
I'm almost always on the bottom.
That being said, the rare times I do find myself as top, my bottom always decides the fate of the match.
I am ive been playing
top with
and
