Twisted Treeline's lack of attention from Riot

Obviously, TT is not comparable to the popularity of the regular game mode summoners rift. But may I ask when the last time TT was even touched by Riot? after many TT games I have realized that the map needs changes done to it as certain champions control the game and many do not. What I mean by this is champions like Kayn, Rammus, Shaco, anyone with the ability to become invis or traverse walls are insanely op in the fact that anyone who cannot do these things will never be able to gank

The way the lanes are setup, whatever side you go through to attempt a gank, a minion is very likely to see you giving the enemy vision knowing you are there. but if you play people like kayn this is not a problem.

If you play kindred on TT you will never get any of your marks unless the enemy does not have a jungler.

Vilemaw is also bugged in which if the enemy kills vile. it stays on the map and no text is given telling you that vile has been slain.

Jungle camps dont even have a spawn animation like SR. They poof in.

Essentially what I am trying to convey with this post is that TT is not designed well for the current champion pool and the map itself have lack of detail aswell as bugs. Please dont forget that there are people who enjoy playing 3v3. Honestly its one of the least toxic gamemodes to play since there are only 6 people

Its gonna be another dominion. Ignore it and then make ppl not play it, then remove it because ppl don't play it.

First of all, Vilemaw has to be buffed cause having a "baron" like epic monster which can be killed 1v1 (do not confront alone btw xD) like a damned dragon, is not ok for the stuff it gives. Also, make the damned map less edged. Want to go close to a wall? Nope, the damned roots ruin your pathing and you have to go in a semi triangle around them. I know the map is old but please, fix these damned issues, these are basic. Not to talk about the frontline minions getting stuck to each other when they come to lane making it impossible to hit the one you want. Just some serious issues that should be looked at so it does not end up like Dominion

I also am surprised it's still around. It's a relic of the past and suffered the same fate as Crystal Scar before that was tossed in the dumpster.

I hate how it's this way, but if you ask me, Rito just is too busy trying to create when they need to take care of their actual core game. They can't even get the main game right, and they're always making new game modes and putting attention into advertising events and doing pointless shit like adding special rainbow particles.

Don't get me wrong, I love a little bit of extra flair and spice to my game, but with Rito it seems to come at the cost of the game's integrity, so that just ruins every mode for me.

Hyper mobile fighters have always been strong on TT, even on the old map (though defensive itemization was much stronger back then, making counter-building easier). The main difference with the new map is with the layout and how the alters work. It makes it very difficult to come back when a team has the lead (or just an early advantage) over you. Come backs were very common on the old map, not so much on this one. They honestly should move the ff timer down to 10 minutes, because the majority of games are decided by that point these days.

I've never enjoyed the current TT map over the older one, but since Dominion is gone it's all I've got. I still like LoL, but it could be so much better than it currently is, and until Riot stops only caring about competitive SR, things will just continue to get worse.

To answer your question, i believe the last time i saw any patch notes concerning TT is when the support items got their quests, and TT got the 'timeworn' ones which still build into FOTM/FQC/PRaise-the-sun amulet.

i don't think vilemaw is bugged in tt it is the only objective, if you can sneak it your opponents wont know when it respawns. in sr, they is dragon and herald/baron. the global sound when they are defeated is intentional as well as the portrait/graphic of who helped to kill it.

They're supposed to be Addressing Twisted Treeline, ARAM & other Non-Summoner's Rift modes next month (some point during July).

Personal opinion: Twisted Treeline still has it's playerbase (it's there, it's just really small compared to SR's 5v5). I don't think there's a whole lot they can do with it, other than increasing/decreasing champion power (similarly how they've done with ARAM). It'll most likely go 2 ways in it's current state;

  • Riot might decide that like the Crystal Scar, Twisted Treeline is also "difficult to maintain/upkeep". This will inevitably lead to Twisted Treeline being retired & Riot will more than likely never bring it back. Removing it would open up the client for a future permanent gamemode, however there's no telling when or if we will see a suitable replacement. There's also a real possibility that TFT takes it's place in the client (TFT Normals & Ranked Queues), but that also remains to be seen.
  • If Riot decides that they want to invest time into Treeline, they can give it an update similar to the one it recieved October 17th 2012. Giving it a new layout & updating it with today's version of the Shadow Isles. This would most likely be a large project that would take alot of time & resources, chances of this completely revitalizing the mode are a complete coinflip.
