Why are support tank items....

Why are they better to the point where bruisers are now tank supports because building those support items makes you tankier than actual tank items.

This topic has probably been posted over and over again so im sorry. But im relatively new to boards and the whole league balance in general (i have only taken an interest in them after i started ranked) so im genuinely curious why rito let this be a thing.
