Why would you lose more lp from d/c at champ select then just quitting out??

Please riot please explain the garbage thoughs behind this trash. I Just lost 13 lp because twc sucks atm. Anyone else sick of hearig dont play rankd with bad inet. I pay them and suppose to have good reliable inet. Sooo debunk there. And IF i was to dodge manually i would lose like 3 lp. What the hell even???????? Why would i lose more for not champ selecting then if i just quit. Wat a garbage system please rethink ur marketing strats thx.
