This is why you are stuck and how to get out
_This might just be a long post but I'd recommend you to read it if you're "Stuck" _
In order to start reading this post, keep in mind that there is no such thing as ELO Hell. ELO Hell are just 2 other words for: Please help me I'm bad and can't climb.
**So what is "Stuck" at a certain ELO? ** Glad you asked! So basicaly being stuck for most people means that they are not able to climb any further. Which is correct in a way. BUT it's not about ELO, it never was about ELO to begin with. It's all about MMR, which means Match Making Ranking Rating.
Which is where it all comes down to in the long run
If you win, you gain MMR If you lose, you lose MMR
If you play well, you get more MMR then if you play bad. Sounds fair right? It doesn't end there.
If you play against players with a MMR avarage lower then yours, you gain LESS MMR if you win. But if you lose, you lose MORE MMR then you would if you were playing against players with the same or higher MMR then you.
You might already know all this but I wanted to get this out of the way. There is no formula you can abuse to boost your MMR quicker so don't bother with it. ( There actually is but RIOT keeps it a secret... Which is good! )
**So why are you not climbing? ** There are multiple reasons for that.
-
**You just suck. It's just equally mean as rude as it gets. ** Trust me on this one, If you are Bronze 4 with a low MMR and a 35% Win rate with +100 games Lee Sin... It's not your team, it's YOU. You just suck. Sure, sometimes we get terrible team mates who all lose lane but So. Do. You. You lose as much as them.
-
Your attitude is not great. People who keep possitive more are going to win more games and climb faster then people who are just all negative. If you are a 0/3 Draven after 5 minutes and start to yell at your team mates cause it's all them. Maybe you are begging for a 15 minutes forfeit. Who knows? I certainly don't.
Tip: If you feel down or just don't believe in the win anymore, DO NOT. EVER. Share this with your team Negativity is contagious. But so is Optimism! [slayer-jinx-wink]
These 2 above are the most common and well known reasons. Let's dig a bit deeper here.
- ** Your champion pool is a joke** ( Can relate to that ). If your champion pool is something like, Taliyah / Azir mid lane and Kindred / Lee Sin Jungle. Chances are that you enjoy mechanicly complex champions cause they look flashy and make you feel soooo satisfied. Which is fine, trust me
But you shouldn't be focusing on that if you want to climb. Instead focus on decision making, lane control, map awareness, warding, farming. The FUNDAMENTALS! For god's sake if I only had known this sooner...
Just play simple champions. I could list some champions but that would be to much for a post no one would probably read. Short list. Soraka, Janna, Braum, Annie, Master Yi, Malphite, Miss Fortune, Xin Zhao.
Simple but Effective. Which is excactly what you need.
Keep it simple summoner!
- **You are trying to invent the wheel. ** Wheels are round for a reason.. They just work better then square wheels ya know? Miss fortune jungle might sound very appealing to you... Just, don't Trust me on that one.
Yes, I also want to play something that no one else plays and be special and become really good at it. But why should you even bother when something else is almost the same but actually works. No need to be a special snowflake.
- ** You play a certain champion like a total different champion. **
I've seen players play Yasuo like a tryndamere Splitpush. Tryndamere can get away with it. Yasuo can't ( always ) Blitzcranks that play like some weird ass messed up Janna. Doing nothing and being very very passive. Blitz is an action orientated champion, a playmaker. If you're gonna play passive like a Janna, you might as well play her instead...
- ** You don't buy the correct items!**
You know what they say right? If you get behind, just straight up build tank. The one who came up with that stupid idea deserves an arrow right into a place where the sun doesn't shine. If you are playing Ryze ( for example ). You will STILL need Rod of Ages and a tear to be considered usefull in a teamfight.
If you're playing against a zed and he get's a lead. Are you just going to buy Sunfire cape as a Syndra? No of course not. Sure you won't be as killed as easy but you are only good for being a fricking meat shield... One that is gonna die eventually anyway.
Why not instead build zhonyas? It removes his ulti from you, gives you armor so you take less poke, while still giving you 10% CDR and a fair amount of AP This should be really easy to figure out but I still some people do it so it's apparently not just common sense.
_There are still many more reasons to look into but this should give some of you a decent idea of what you might be doing wrong. _ If this gets some possitive feedback I might make another one of these cause this wasn't too bad at all.
Godspeed, summoner!
