Unpopular opinion : Those changes aren't that bad.

I personally like the turret plating mechanic as they're actually quite helpfull in many ways. Yes it's annoying when you get rekt and ppl get more gold to snowball your lane but at the same time it takes more time for turret to fall which prevents those fed ppl spread their gold lead to other lanes and snowball the entire game. Second thing is that sometimes, you play agains't champions that roams while you're not always in a position to follow (assassins mostly aka bush trap or whatever) but you can now punish them or at least not fall too far behind if they get a kill by getting gold from turrets. Meanwhile, players can roam without fearing to lose their turret in a blink of an eye because the enemy jungler suddenly came to help push your turret. Although, I find the plates a bit weak so I would either segment them in 4 or buff the bullwark.

The bounty system based on cs is great too. I mean, we've all faced this hyperfed person (jax) that use his lead to splitpush and sidewave forever getting even bigger leads, now you can actually comeback in the game by getting some decent amount of gold to come back in the game by shutting them down. The bounty indicator is great in that sense too.

The changes to minions speed and canons changes are quite helpfull for those who rely further on macro plays such as slowpushing both if you're losing or winning.

Overall, I see much more lever for comebacks. At the end, it's going to be up to the players to commit and use those lever at the fullest. So I don't think those preseason changes are that bad at all when you look at them closely. Nonetheless, I kinda wished game could last a tiny longer by buffing t2 and t3 because the 14th min mark is a bit too brutal in term of pace change in my opinion.

The changes are putting this game in a great direction .

Good job riot

Yeah i agree feels great when you die 1 time to the enemy jungler in toplane and they get 600 gold whitout even killing the turret. It is also very nice when you are half health and x ranged champ tosses an undeodgeable ability to you and you die (DH). If you think this preseason is good you probably dont play the game very seriously or have any idea of the current snowball meta that they pretended to nerf with this changes. Also, you got 150 farm but still you got camped early and 0-2?? well we give you a 300 gold bounty so that already fed toplaner can kill you for even more. Cmon dude.

Thank God there's at least one post that isnt whining

KnifeCat11/26/2018, 6:00:37 AM6 votes

It’s not that they’re bad, they’re fine, maybe a little overtuned (plating gold/DH), but the point is they don’t address any of the issues. They’ve completely ignored them and given us a “placebo fix” instead such as “tankier turrets” .. are they REALLY tankier ? Does that extra minute or two really do that much to fix the game’s problems? No they go back to being useless after 14 mins and baron still ends the game in a single push. On top of that they buffed minions once again because apparently we need more help “closing out games”

Riot said they’d address dmg creep & they didn’t. It’s incredibly disappointing that they basically lied, and that after such a long wait the “pre season changes” barely had any effect on the game state.

People are especially furious because we know this was the one time for big changes. The next chance will be next mid season/ pre season.

Dark Harvest is by far the biggest outlier but that's about it.

Agree. Games in a decent spot. Just needs some tuning for numbers.

Unpopular response: I agree. There is always a silver lining to this patch, and I’m relishing in it

Honestly, I now avoid going here because the topics are often tons of people saying "It is bad" without any points, or then they invent magical fallacy to try to push their narrative that everything is bad.

The only real offender is dark harvest (honestly, everyone who saw it or tested it on the pbe could smell it would be problematic and need a lot of tuning to get it right) in this preseason so far.

People say "Defensive runes sucks" but truth is that you still get armor or MR when in the past season, you had none. We just need CDR/HP lvl rune to scale at lvl 11 so it goes better with the flow of the game (but at the same time it still powerspike it mid game).

Plates are great, it can EASILY be adjusted so it either give less gold or the first plate don't give as much (but the latter ones do).

Drakes are way more rewarding to take and I had teams being able to fight back a deficit because they suceeded to help their jungle secure drakes despite being in a gold deficit and with 3/4 turret destroyed toward 15/17 minuts.

Turrets HURT now, like for fuck sake the board is full of hypocrite because as someone who watch high elo stream, a LOT of toplaner and jungle said that they REALLY have to adjust to the turret damage and that you can't commit to a dive as easily as before. Don't let me start on botlane because gosh a turret shot is NOT nice to take... Like... exactly as people wanted. Even the others turrets feel like they will HURT if you fuck around during a dive.

I was really worried about the faster spawing of objectives but to be real... It actually didn't change much from what I saw. Games are smoother, for sure, but in plat mmr, it feel quite the same and I didn't see challenger games being broken because of it.

The "2 pink only" kinda hurt in some sense when you have the trinket being nerfed too, I feel support players should have their support item 'reward' them by being able to take one more pink. For every other role, everyone would take two pink at most (I talk pro type of games) so I feel it is fair.

Really, the only problematic child is Dark Harvest. The rest is good or can be very easily tuned if it too good for one of either side. I feel that with this kind of preseason, Riot will be able to tackle other issues at the moment which is ADC current itemisation and also how they want to work on tanks.

I very much like this change.

AR URF11/26/2018, 6:08:49 AM2 votes

I just have a problem with dark harvest because it's suited for bursty champs are is taken on none burst champs. I'd say keep the old way of getting stacks and take away the 50% health thing as well as nerf it altogether.

Mighty Mortein11/26/2018, 6:25:45 AM2 votes

Yeah, I think most things are fine. Dark Harvest needs a bit of tuning and maybe buff tower defenses a little more? If they did that, I'd be happy.

FuyaSan11/26/2018, 6:31:26 AM2 votes

i agree

ØrnnToGetTrolleÐ11/26/2018, 9:17:21 AM2 votes

No it doesn't take longer for the tower to die.

Or perhaps I'm blind.

THE BOUNTY BASED ON CS IS THE WORST THING IN THIS PRESEASON! ARE YOU TROLLING ?! ?!? !? !??!? !

XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

I really need to stop coming here... And avoid (insert disease here)

Heos0011/26/2018, 10:15:53 AM1 votes

No they aren't that bad, the only thing that i see as good it's the towerplating giving gold when you destroy it so it makes the roaming a bit harder. But i feel like nothing changed and the damage still increasing, if you play the game as a tdm bloodmoon event maybe actually is good.
