What's wrong with yorick?

Yorick is getting a rework and I heard that he's not a good champion. I don't know a lot about yorick nor have I laned against one before so I don't know what's so bad about yorick. Can anyone tell me?

You press buttons. GG. He is just a champion that doesn't really have a purpose and isn't fun to play. His Passive reduces dmg, His Q is an auto attack enhance, His W is a tiny bit of aoe dmg/slow, His E is dmg and lifesteal, His ult is a trashy Karthus passive. His abilities spawn minions that wander around randomly.

Yeah but other champs you have to think about what you are doing (unless you are ww) Yorick just right clicks someone and spams qwe mindlessly.

he doesn't do much He doesn't bring much to a lot of teams

when he is a good pick he's a good pick, when he's not he makes you want to strangle the picker.

What is meant by "press buttons" is that there is never a situation in which Yorick needs to make a choice about which ghoul to use. Oh sure, W slows, but it also chases, so pushing it to get in range for E and Q virtually ensures that you have the same combo 100% of the time. There's no need to think about which ghouls need to be out, because the benefits of keeping them all out all the time is staggering.

I fear a good Yorick more than a good Zed or any other cancer champ. Their impact on the game, when built right, is just that significant.

Mastery 5 jungle yorick here.

Pros of playing yorick -BM'ing when you kill someone as yorick -Being able to tower dive at 6 and using your clone as bait

Cons of playing yorick -kit -damage -movement speed -everything about him, even his animations and splash art, are awful.

If you have a super hard carry on your team his ult can make fighting his team a literal living hell. What you thought you killed vayne? Nope she got a free window to keep murdering your team.

Son, sit down and listen well, for I've came to tell a story from old times. I've been here since Season 2 and saw the rising and fall of many champions. I've seen Rengar being born and nerfed and buffed and nerfed in a never ending cicle. I saw the stacking Blood Thirsters and I saw the Snowball Trio. But nothing that I've seen in all these long years have been more impactful than him. In the dark ages, Yorick was king. No matter who you picked, no matter what you did, no matter what you built. For your poke, he had sustain. For your mobility, he had slow. For your ganks, he had mobility. For your all ins, he had damage reduction and bonus damage. Even for the event of you killing him, he would just come back and punish you for it. Top lane was his to ruin. You would be poked to death with no chance of hurting him back, for his poke was also sustain. He would bully you out of lane constantly without ever landing one auto attack on you. In a time with no mobility or damage creep, he was granted a win in any lane. It is said that his lack of counterplay has led more people to suicide than the great crash of 29. He was the most frustratin champion in the entire game, having an auto win on his lane no matter who he would play against. Until one day. The Day of the Hammer. The day of freedom. The day when the Nerf Hammer hit Yorick so hard that he became useless. In this day champion diversity was back to top lane. Nobody ever heard of Yorick ever since, but there are rumors. Yes my child, dark rummors that Yorick is coming back once again. Coming to reclaim the throne that once belonged to him. With him, the Dark Ages shall return. So brace yourself my child, for you have not seen the horrors that are yet to return. Brace yourself for the Gravedigger shall return to destroy everything this comunity once held dear. Those are the signs given by the Omen of Death. War, Famine and Pestilence shall return!
