Don't nerf Fizz's attack range, nerf something else

I totally understand that Fizz is too strong right now, and yes you should nerf the cooldown on his E, and remove some power, in the form of damage perhaps if he's too overbearing. But the 175 attack range is not only key to playing Fizz in lane where he can barely scrap any CS, but it's also thematic to Fizz's TRIDENT. Don't nerf Fizz in obscure ways that make him less fun to play, nerf him in another direction such as damage.

What do you mean by "Fizz is too strong"? Show me the proof of this. Or I can tell you that fizz has a 51% win rate while someone else like Karthus has 57.2% or Swain has 55.7% or Volibear has 54.72%. How about I tell you fizz win rate is ranked No.43 among 131 champs? I think you should learn to think with logic rather than personal preference or "intuition".

Why don't they nerf the damage and duration on his W passive to where it deals the same damage per tick but just doesn't stick around for 3 full seconds? Fizz would still deal the same amount of damage while on top of someone but you wouldn't be getting players dying a full 3 seconds after thinking they got away.

That wouldn't be a big nerf, but this seems like some power that Fizz simply doesn't need in his kit.

Having 175 attack range has always made him almost impossible to trade with as a melee. He gets 2 free auto attacks on you before you can even get within range to fight him and pair that with his W you take some serious damage before you even have a chance to trade back. That's the equivalent of giving Akali 175 attack range so she can proc her Q before you can even get to her.
