Mechanics for an evasive assassin

It'd be interesting to create an assassin that could be in the middle of a big fight and still be evasive. Maybe he'd be all about running up and auto-attacking you, but all his abilities made him super slippery? Or maybe his abilities would be offensive on enemies, but evasive on allies?

How about the ability to make nearby teammates block projectiles aimed at you, like Braums shield does? For example, a passive that always lets you hide behind your allies' hitboxes, or an active that moves you behind an ally and makes them soak up projectiles for a few seconds (an inverse version of Braum's W-E, essentially).

How about a block ability that also knocks you away from your attacker? A block that teleports you up to the damage source? Maybe a spell-shield that makes you enter stealth for X seconds if someone pops it?

How about LB's Distortion, but you are always teleported back after X seconds? Maybe it forces you to teleport back and forth several times, giving you a few seconds to attack each time you go in, and a few seconds to move your "mark" when you go back?

How about a reverse-Rengar; each time you attack in melee you leap back, only allowing you to land one **hard **hit each time you engage, but also making you leap to safety each time?

Do you have any ideas for evasive assassin-type abilities?

Ekko is the latest assassin release and he's a pretty damn impressive one at that. I've never spectated so many gameplay videos from no name youtubers before. He isn't as mobile as you're considering (basically a melee kalista.. shudder) but he has jukes for days.

Next champion release should be a mage since our last 4 releases were Bruiser (Rek'sai), Adc (kalista), Support (bard), assassin (Ekko).

I personally feel a melee Kalista would be very interesting! The difference would be that as melee you'd have to keep re-engaging to actually kill someone, putting you at risk each time you try to deal damage, as opposed to Kalista who can keep attacking you even when she has jumped out of your range.

Lacks counterplay. That's why they don't do it.

This is true. Its not to say there aren't out there but really need to think outside the box. You'd probably need to add longer cool down to such evasiveness to make it less op. Kind of like how they nerfed kassadin.

I like the idea of dynamic spells kind of like the item righteous glory. Spells that receive an amp when used offensively as opposed to defensive. I suppose the inverse would work for an evasive champ. Receive some sort of buff when running away or taking too much damage. Hence ekkos ult

That's just dismissive. There's nothing about evasiveness that inherently lacks counterplay. Some form of evasinveness is common to all assassins; Fizz comes to mind. Most assassins are good at engaging rather than to disengage, though; I think the opposite could be an interesting playstyle. As long as the kit retains some moments of weakness or elements of risk there's counterplay to it.

Fizz E has little counterplay. The only reason it has counterplay is because it's so mana-intensive early. Leblanc W has little counterplay, just as Fizz does. Even Riot acknowledged the low counterplay of Zed ult with his untargetability and ability to jump back to the previous shadow immediately, so they gave him a full second to wait before jumping back with this most recent patch.

Every strategy can be beaten. That doesn't mean that the counterplay is meaningful.

For example, say you can hit someone and immediately blink out. What you just did was deal damage without the ability of the enemy to do the same. You have a free trade that immediately gives you an advantage. You'll notice that this is a mechanic that Riot has been doing their best to get rid of. They removed Talon's, Kassadin's, and Leblanc's silences because they didn't allow the enemy to react.
