Runes Reforged Concerns

To put it bluntly, I'm really concerned about this change to runes. In theory I'm ok with them changing the rune system but I've already invested literally hundreds of thousands of IP and I know i bought AT LEAST 2 of the large 6 or 7 rune page bundles with RP. I've unlocked pretty much every rune there is, and I only own about 70 champions, some of which i bought with RP. So, basically the overwhelming majority of the IP I've earned through the years was spent on runes. I understand I'm probably in the minority here, but I know all of you have spent enough IP on runes that you'd be pissed if it was just tossed in the garbage. Now I wouldn't be too worried about this if i hadn't already emailed riot in the past and asked them if they could give me my entire IP purchase history, just because i was curious to see how much IP I've earned, how much was spent where etc. From what i recall, they could only give me my IP purchase history for the past 6 months for a 5$ clerical fee. I would have paid the 5$ if it meant i got to see the whole thing but you can't.

http://i.imgur.com/NP5PeSf.png <---------- Riot support (When you go to the privacy.riot games site, they state that you can only see your IP purchase history from the past 6 months)

The reason this worries me though is because it means they're not even tracking how much you've spent on runes or at the very least it's not easily attainable from their records. How are they going to adequately reimburse people if the entire purchase history isn't even on file? What would they even reimburse us with? Personally, I'd want a full refund of all the IP and RP I've spent on runes and rune pages. Even with that I would definitely have enough IP leftover to purchase every champ in the game, and still have plenty left over. The current hex tech system is not going to be an adequate reimbursement in any sense of the word. That system needs large changes, like being able to purchase chests/keys with IP, and either remove the ability to get champion shards from boxes or separate them into an entirely different sort of box.

TLDR; From personal experience, riot doesn't keep track of your account's entire IP purchase history, only the past six months of activity. But even putting that aside, how are they going to adequately reimburse rune and rune page purchases? IMO Hextech crafting needs major changes if they even think about using that to make up for it.

(Please bump if you share the concern)

There's a difference between seeing purchases and seeing what you have purchased.

If you have X rune, it's obvious you bought that rune (or got it by combining previously-bought-or-combined runes), regardless of whether or not Riot can see when it happened.

I also would feel i need a full RP and IP compensation for that. It destroy the value that existed around runes and turn your investment in lost resources

Things change.

It would be fair to make runes free without refunding anything at all.

Considering this change won't go through until November, and they're giving six month notice, the rune price is fair for a minimum of six months of use.

This whole thing is ridiculous. They said they'd refund to an extent. That means don't expect your life savings of IP that went into runes back in your pocket.

As long as people are getting meaningful compensations for owning X amounts of rune pages and runes, which is going to be just about everyone, that's what matters more.

I can see full IP refunds depending on how the exact amount of runes someone has owned. As for rune pages, it gets much more cloudy because it can be bought either using RP or IP, and in bundles or not. That would require a different types of compensation rewards, such as skin shards or even mystery gifts.

If it means for people to buy things with IP for mystery gifts right before the rune shop closes permanently? I think it's a fair trade because there should be a reward for saving up IP anyways.

This is my concern regarding whatever form of reimbursement made.

I own:

17 runes pages 10 (completed sets) of marks (9 of) 11 (completed sets) of seals (9 of) 16 (completed sets) of glyphs (9 of) 21 (completed sets) of Quints (3 of) All the champions 12,000 IP 5 champion shards

I really hope the "reimbursement" is based on what you have, and not on what I will not be able to use. I won't be able to use IP. Heck, I have 12,000 IP and 5 champion shards awaiting the new champ. I was able to unlock both Xayah and Rakan at the same time last time with the same IP + Champion Shard re-roll combo.

I would feel like Riot ripped my balls off if I got a shitty reimbursement.

Obviously, I won't be expecting to get a reimbursement equal to the value of my investment. But, I do sure hope I don't get screwed over either.

PS: For those of you stating I'm not entitled to a reimbursement, go fuck yourself. I didn't put in 6 years of hard work, just for it to be stripped off of me because people feel like it. I get it, new players will be rewarded with easier access to different playstyles and blah blah blah. That's not my concern. I love that! Makes sense. But, to strip players "rewards" for working hard without an adequate reward would be like ripping their balls off because someone else can't reproduce.

Well, first of all, this should be fairly easy to calculate yourself, at least for runes. Just add up the cost of all the runes you have.

They are going to compensate you based on the runes and rune pages you have, and that's going to be proportional to how much you spent. I'm unclear on how that would be difficult.
