Taking away exp from Raptors and giving it to Krugs was a shitty idea

I've been a jungle main for a few years now and i have never felt more annoyed or forced down a certain path than i am now, and I have a few changes at the bottom that I think will improve the state of the early game for junglers and laners. Hear me out.

Maybe it's just me but when I'm playing any Jungler without a large amount of AOE clear such as LeeSin or Trundle , I DREAD going to Raptors at any point in the early game. They were already the worst camp to clear in the new jungle and then for some reason riot diverted exp away from them to make them even more worthless. Even with smite up they will fuck you up, and you're basically forced to use both charges of refillable if you want to early gank anyone or not fear an invade at your blue side.

You're also basically forced, as someone on another post pointed out, to rush level 3 from only clearing Red and Krugs and gank a lane which is going to be one or two levels behind you which is honestly just OP as fuck.

Basically this is making your jungle path pretty predetermined and boring to play from a jungle standpoint, and probably really annoying to play against if you're on the receiving end of a level 3 Jungle with red as you're level 1 or 2.

I have three small changes i think would really improve on this in an effort to make the early game a little less painful for all parties involved.

  1. Take away Bonus exp from Krugs and give it back to Raptors.

  2. Nerf baby raptors AD or HP or some combination to make them less dreadful and be actually worth the time and HP to clear.

  3. Speed up the animation of the Krugs Splitting off into smaller Krugs so the identity of new Krugs is still there without having to wait 10 years for them to split apart. (Clear time should accelerate as the game progresses and as you build damage, but the animations being so slow make it not work this way)

This would remove the level 3 cheese ganks, and make it less painful for the single target AA based junglers to clear the camps.

As a jungle main, you can legit do red -> krugs to ding level 3 and show up to bot lane before they hit level 2. Its so broken.

I have absolutely no idea what in the world could've led them to this decision (or courage of the colossus' initial numbers).

The fact that you can do Red -> Krugs, hit level 3 and gank the enemy top laner who will still level 1 pre-3 mins is kind of ridiculous.

Honestly I've only jungled in the new jungle twice so far, once as zac, which was a breeze, and once as Kha'zix, in which I understand your pain completely.

I ended up starting going Blue > Wolves > Raptors > Red > Krugs, which wasn't completely awful, but as Kha'zix you're kinda just trying to rush 6 quickly anyway for better ganking power.

It would have been largely impossible for me to actually pull off a gank if I had wanted to without great risk of death.

The raptors or chickens are what i think the most annoying camp of all, the dmg and the quantity

Frankly I think something like having machete's on hit do splash damage or turning it's damage into an instant life drain similar to talisman's dot drain or maybe even a small combo of both would make the overall jungle and the champs that are getting mauled by the raptors much healthier.

Excellent post, except for when you said Lee lacks AoE clear when his E is literally a point blank magic nuke.

argument: Bonus Exp on krugs is healthy for the game

Why?: Junglers now have plenty of routes, a counter jungler can easily run in to the enemy jungle and steal their blue buff if the jungler decides to take krugs, buffs have a much longer respawn time and is a pretty huge detriment to the game if lost for some junglers, meanwhile allows the enemy jungle to freely give his blue over to mid.

In this case, the arguement follows, risk taking krugs and getting an easy gank top or bot, which can be anticipated if people in those lanes think, or do the usual red into wolves into blue for level 3, avoiding raptors, secure the buff and avoid getting counter jungled early.

Keeping the split up rate slow in the early game, but increasing the split up speed late game will help prevent going krugs early as super abusable as the split uptime ensures counter jungling is safer if opted in for it. As I see it, the meta will evolve to where jungle picks are more of an active participation, do you want to try and out farm your opponent, do you want to try and match their lv 3 gank at 2:30 and risk some jungle pressure or do you want to counter jungle without much worry. In this case, it becomes more of a rock paper scissors that isnt guaranteed results but creates a pretty intriguing level of diversity rather then the usual I want to clear as fast a possible.

Argument: Raptors are OP af

Why?: OP already stated the reasons I dont think anyone can clear them healthily consistently and for most junglers it is just a waste, rito plz

Crucify me for this but I believe people will adapt to this change if it is left. For the jungle it makes life far more interactable rather then oh this is my comfort pick and I will farm blindly till i get what i need to gank effectively.

Yeah i love the whole lets keep changing the jungle cause it's stale crap and people are running a optimized course as we are the only ones punished for doing learning our lane. yet we are still running a optimized jungle path red>krugs and they are fine with this now they are going to change it again cause they keep messing up. They should have left the jungle alone.

Riot tries to create more diversity in the jungle.

Ends up encouraging a single most effective route for all junglers, skewing diversity even worse then before.

Riot then releases Camile.

Clap Competence.
