Looking for Carry Options

Daimyon·12/17/2016, 7:38:57 AM·1 votes·452 views

I am a support main, have been for awhile, and while I enjoy the role, I find it very reliant on having a good team. In short, I would like to transition to a role where I can carry a team to victory. I will list what I think my strengths and weaknesses are, and hopefully get some advice or suggestions.

My Strengths

  • Good map awareness
  • An understanding of item builds
  • I don't get mad or upset
  • I don't panic in team fights or when sieged
  • I know almost every champions kits
  • I understand team comps and matchups as well as counters
  • I can cs and animation cancel

My Weaknesses

  • I am sometimes slow at picking out correct targets in team fights
  • I tend to follow teammates into bad engages to try to save them
  • Sometimes I build items in the wrong order
  • I don't split push when I should
  • When there is too much going on, I can hesitate to make a decision on how to proceed
  • I am not a natural leader and have a hard time calling plays

I think it is important to know what your strengths and weaknesses are, it is the only way to get better. I don't hide my weaknesses, nor do I make excuses for them.

That being said, I would like some advice on a role and champion(s) to transition to so that I can make more of an impact on games.

You're going to want a support than can win your lane, then roam mid and gank them. Supports like this are usually play makers though, which I feel like you should improve on if you want to climb. Maybe the challenge would be good for you :P Bard Blitzcrank Leona Thresh Zyra Annie Brand

For climbing, I really think you should stay away from supports that empower your team, and play the ones that carry by themselves.

From what you said, I think you should try zrya, your weaknesses don't really matter when playing her. Saving a teammate/going in a a bad engage, you're going to be further back, so it doesnt really matter (maybe? :P ).

These guys are usually the play makers though.

Just pick a champion you like. There is no "correct answer" in champion that will cause nor is there an "incorrect answer" that is going to prevent you from climbing. You are not at a rating where champion choice matters; you will not be adversely affected because you picked the "wrong" champion.
Your champion or lane choice is not what is going to prevent you from climbing:

  • I am sometimes slow at picking out correct targets in team fights
  • I tend to follow teammates into bad engages to try to save them
  • Sometimes I build items in the wrong order
  • When there is too much going on, I can hesitate to make a decision on how to proceed

These are the things that are going to prevent you from climbing.

Play Caitlyn bot. With the way things are right now, it will piss off a lot of people. And personally, that's fun as hell to me
