Does Shaco's Kit make sense

Before you start in this conversation please read Shaco's lore and play at least a bots game with him.

  • Passive- Back stab : Shaco deals 20% bonus damage when striking a unit from behind with his basic attacks or abilities.

This is a nice and dynamic passive that rewards you for making intentional strikes at specific times. I think it could be a little higher or scale with level but I don't have any real problems with this passive. I just mentioned it so we can get discussion going about ever aspect of Shaco's Kit


  • Q - Deceive: Shaco instantly blinks to a target nearby location and enters stealth for up to 3.5 seconds. Dealing damage will break stealth early. His next basic attack within 6 seconds is guaranteed to critically strike for modified base critical damage.

This move makes a ton of sense with Shaco's theme. It was a little Broken though, how many people remember *Deceive * pre-nerf ? To bed Honest Deceive is not that great any more, don't get me wrong its still awesome and really useful just not as good as befor. We cant really make it stronger without making it OP again, so what if we changed it from a teleport to a speed boost and kinda like Udyr's bear stance the next Auto you make in this form has a small little lung. This has much more Counter play than a instant teleport so you can play with the stats more without it becoming OP. How else could we change this keeping Shaco's kit with his theme.


  • W - jack in the Box : Shaco summons a box at the target location that stealths after a 2 second delay and lasts for up to 60 seconds. When an enemy comes within 300 units, the box springs open: causing surrounding enemies to turn and flee while it attacks nearby enemies for up to 5 seconds.

I have a big problem with this move in that is NOT DYNAMIC, by Dynamic i mean that it has room to be used in different ways and played against, If a move is not Dynamic than if you lower the stats its trash and if you raise the stats its Broken. My favorite example of this Teemo shrooms and Shaco Boxes. These Traps are not Dynamic they are invisible so the only way not to get slammed by them is get lucky. If these traps have high stats they are broken, pre-nerf teemo shrooms did 1000+ damage without blinking, but if they have bad stats they are darn near useless. Shaco boxes don't help past jungling unless you get really lucky. I think this move should be replaced entirely. Now i know the boxes are a big part of who shaco is, so i guess you could do 1 of these 2 things or both. Make the Traps visible but untargetable until activated or just untargerable all the time. The other thing you could do is make a max like Cait traps that way they can last much longer like 3 minutes or so without it causing a problem.


  • E - Two - Shiv Poison : PASSIVE: Shaco's basic attacks poison his targets, reducing their movement speed for 2 seconds. It also gives affected non-champion units a chance to miss their attacks. SLOW: 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30% MISS CHANCE TO NON-CHAMPION UNITS: 20 / 22.5 / 25 / 27.5 / 30% ACTIVE: Shaco throws a dagger at a target enemy dealing magic damage and applying his slowing poison to them for 3 seconds. The passive is deactivated during the cooldown.

This move is fine, but i have one small Gripe its Two, Two, Two TWO TWO... shiv so why don't we have this move make some sense and have it stack with 2 so you can use 2 in quick succession and only halve the passive if only one shiv is used


  • R - Hallucinate: Shaco vanishes for 0.5 seconds, then creates a clone of himself that will last for up to 18 seconds.

THIS IS AN ULT.... Wukong's Clone is a better clone. Shaco's Clone needs to be a perfect Clone because it is an ult.

PLAY shaco before you say this..... Shacos deceive needs a buff, tbh, not a nerf you don't see shaco running away at 50 miles per hour. He simply looks at you and poof hes gone. I disagree with everything but the fact having a max* 4* boxes that last 3 mins seems legit.

why make shacos boxes visible. attacking from nowhere is whole part of shacos kit.

Shaco's "theme" is to be painful, unpredictable, and annoying (yes, I said it).

Passive: Painful Q: Unpredictable W: Annoying E: Painful and annoying R: All of the above...

I see no problem. A slight buff/rework (very minor, not earthshaking like Sion or Soraka or Viktor) would be nice, but otherwise his kit functions fantastically.
