LeaverBuster - does it ever time-out or anything?

I looked and Google couldn't seem to answer this. I have particularly bad Comcast cable ATM, and it sometimes resets the modem repeatedly for 20+ minutes. Even in the early evening, occasionally. Comcast refuses to do anything about it, so I'm pretty hosed. If I manage to be careful enough to only get knocked out of 1 game a month or so, am I still gonna have to deal with low-priority queue every few months? Or does it reset the count once a month or something sane? Just how bad is it liable to get? Does my connection mean I effectively shouldn't bother playing League of Legends? For reference, I'm not playing ranked, or even draft or PvP at all. Just coop. Just started this week. Is there even any difference between coop and draft or blind pvp to LeaverBuster, or are the all the same and only Ranked is higher priority? And to clarify, is that implication in the LeaverBuster page that once you've ever been on low-priority at all your account is permanently on a lower-tolerance status even after you do your quota, right?

In all honesty it's obnoxious enough to take a loss because of Comcast, LeaverBuster just adds insult to injury... especially when I did manage to reconnect before the match finished, and did my best to turn the game around... more than the other 2 players did, from what I saw. I practically never lose against bots so far... hard to make up 20 minutes though. A very frustrating 20 minutes it was... if only Comcast weren't too big to fail. They're practically immune to customer outrage.

Hm, looks like there's no spoiler function on this board either... first time for everything I guess. League's gonna take some getting used to if I continue to play at all.

The penalty starts at 5 minutes for 5 games and increases 5 minutes each time you leave a game after, up to 20 minutes for 5 games. The penalty can diminish as you play games without leaving, and you will be notified when it does so. If you leave infrequently enough you can sometimes disconnect without any penalty at all.

However, worry less about what the punishment for you is. It is not meant to be something to shrug off so easily, because as much as leaving the game sucks for you, it's ruining the game for all your teammates too and they can't do anything about it. Keep calling Comcast to get the issue fixed, or play only when this doesn't tend to happen. If you need any sort of assistance doing this, post on the Help & Support board and we'll give what guidance we can.

i dont know why is there a leaverbuster for norms tbh. they neeed a mode for people to actually casually play in and not care about leaving or not. utterly ridiculous that this is the only game that does that

Just play customs. Leaverbuster only applies to matchmake games

Leaverbuster does eventually reset, but it takes time, and IIRC the amount of time to reset gets longer the more times you get penalized.

I know it sucks to get booted by your internet, but RIot's policy is pretty much that if you can't commit to games, they don't really want you, because the harm you do extends to nine other people every time it happens. If there was no check on disconnects, then you could easily mess up hundreds of other player's games in a day.

Then its your fault for not threatening them you will drop the service. If you do, get them as many times as possible to get them to fix the issue.

Whining about it and not doing anything about the issue won't get it solved.
