What's the counterplay against Zz'Rot/Banner comp?

Basically, everyone builds a ton of waveclear (item 3512 item 3060 item 3068 item 2045 item 3158 and either item 3085 or item 3748), take teleport, and splitpush all game, trying to avoid teamfights. Zz'Rot, Banner, and Sunfire are pretty self explanatory. Ruby Sightstone reduces item cooldowns by 20%, so Zz'Rot and Banner come up more frequently. Boots of Lucidity lower the cooldown on Teleport further. Bot lane can take double relic shield to sustain through the early game.

We won the two games, and won them hard. We had full map control almost all the time, and they couldn't push. http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2386682291/216352813?tab=overview http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2386557687/216352813?tab=overview

That said, these were low elo games. Which is why I ask, what's the counterplay? The traditional way to counter splitpushes are teamfighting as a larger group, but that doesn't work against this.

Teamfighting and pushing as a group doesn't work because they can't outpush the portals, and pushing against a Zz'Rot is also hellish. They can't catch people off one by one, because of Ruby Sighstone's vision. For one push, we put wards around the entire red side of the enemy jungle. The splitpushers are also very tanky from their builds, so it's difficult to kill them. It's also difficult to just turtle and defend, because Banner minions are immune to magic damage, and Zz'Rot minions spawn every 4 seconds. This also leaves other objectives open.

When we face pushing comps, we delegate one person to "defend" (only if their waves are already on 1st level ors base tower) and the rest of the team pushes objectives (Dragon, Nashor). If no objective is up, get 4 ppl to one lane and dive if necessary. Usually they cant win a fight with those items if your team has proper builds (AD/AP). Take another tower or inhib right after you killed 2/3 of them.

Essentially force teamfights as 4? I definitely noticed that our team had no damage, with such a build, so we picked champions with a lot of innate damage and just avoided teamfights in general.

But wouldn't doing so cost a lot of time (since the enemy is so tanky), and end up in just trading objectives? You can push two lanes, but it's difficult to defend all 3. And unless the enemy comp also has a lot of waveclear, I'm not sure if they can both defend and push. Would you agree that this wouldn't work with some comps, or would this work for most comps?

YOU GET A item 3512 YOU GET A item 3512 YOU GET A item 3512 EVERYONE GETS A item 3512

Honestly, item 3512 is far more superior to banner of command.

It is, but you can get both and they synergize very well.
