Chalice Options for a Non-Support

Curious if there's any chance we could get a Chalice build path that isn't intended for support. The current Mikael's was originally the support's Chalice, but now Grail is, too, what with the new passive requiring you to be able to shield or heal an ally.

I can get having it be a suboptimal choice in terms of damage- wanting a sacrifice for the sustain- but don't make the only options be a passive that most mages literally cannot use or a highly situational support active.

And before someone says "Archangel Staff", that doesn't restore mana, that merely makes you take longer to go dry. Once you're dry, you're dry, and there's pretty much nothing you can do about it any more.

No. The intent of these changes (which has been said multiple times and in the video they released) is to make mana regen a supportive type item, while flat mana is a mid laner stat.

Let's not assume that Riot HAS a long-term vision, since evidence points in the opposite direction. Instead, let's just look at the facts here. Any mana-intensive playstyle that doesn't involve tons of fighting is ruled out. This might be a siege-style or it might be a cautious playstyle that involve sharing jungle camps. Or maybe you just fell behind. If this fits with where you want the game to go (less variety since this is already the secular trend for 3+ seasons), congratulations. If not, reconsider LoL as your favorite game I suppose.
