If I'd went up against assasins, I would have said screw the tank build.. I need to outdanage them faster than then and be sure to heal back the danage
I) dont all in the assasin/assasins until ult is up.
Ii) Turn on w BEFORE you start the fight, so you can deactivate the heal when you need to.
III) Make sure thou hast built AS, AP, and AP(Nashors, Guinsoos, Rylias). This way you have fast ass super strong ass Q hits, a bunch of AP for heal, a strong e, and a strong ult. This can even outdamage a devourer yi, because damage from Q+AS= super fast 3 Q for godly bursts. The CDR is nice, too.
In the case of burst champs, Id also get a resistance item, WotA, and crack boots.
A needed resistance item is good situationally, like DMP or SV.
A tanky Mord seems bad to me; he's just so slow to hit and slow to move. Why not get things for Rylias and Liandys gor health? It boosts damage, has effects, and boost AP. DMP is also nice for the speed and health.

USABLE KEYSTONES: DFT, Fervor of Battle, Grasp of the Undying. I normally use DFT, and like to use gold income masteries from the cunning tree, since I use mostly AP, price on AP items went up, and Mord is VERY item reliant.
PLAY SAFE EARLY, hyper focus cs, poke, and always shield early. Only all in when you KNOW you have an advantage. Than flip ghost Q and kill them.
Boots or amp tome start.
In solo I like boots. Duo I kike amp.
Rush Nashors and play super safe
CORE: Nashors, Swiftness boots, Rylias, Guinsoos
You are easy to kill early, so again, play safe early, pre six.
Six gives you your second heal.
Once you get this core bodies will begin to fall. SURE you may be squishy, but it gives for many hues, because you hit q faster than speedy gonzolez. Thats epic burst PLUS the fact that thou hast 2 heals!!!! Use them!! Learn timing!
