Your quote is off.... A Grandmaster Chess player will tip over his king when there are no more moves he can make.
I have heard many people compare league to chess, but the difference is pieces appear (objectives) and disappear, and move consistently (players and minions). So... why would you tip your king if their fed player decides to dive you all under tower and dies instantly. Suddenly you have an advantage, because the threat has been eliminated, and there are more pieces to move around. League is not chess. Pieces constantly move. Rooks can quickly become Queens. When the enemy makes a wrong decision, that can end the game for them.
Hugely one sided, like i said before, is allocated not through kills alone. It's allocated through gold difference, which is a combination of CS, Kills, Deaths, Assists, Towers, and Objectives, and Item builds.
You hear all the time in LCS commenting on the gold difference rather than the kill difference. Remember the game where fnatic was ahead of SKT in kills, but suddenly SKT aced them with a lucian pentakill and won the game (MSI)? it was (SKT)11-23(FNC), and a lucian penta at Fnatic's base finished the game. BUT the kicker is that the gold difference is 2k...
By your logic, FNC have won the game. By MY logic, the game isn't over. Fnatic were unable to push the advantages they had, and SKT managed to stay in the game through CS, objectives, and other factors. IE: Lucian has 3/4/6 kda with 384cs, while Sivir has 9/2/7 with 316 farm. both have the same build.
I thought diamond players would know this stuff....
