Hey guys! I just recently returned to LoL after a very long time. Boy have things changed. Its nice to play all the new champs and see some of my favs got buffs/completely reworked. I took at liking to Reksai (Lets be honest he looks badass) but no matter how many normal games I play I just cant seem to be useful. When I say useful I mean I do nothing! If I go tanky I feel like im worthless to my team and build any damage I moosh apart. Im sure im just playing wrong but any advice would be greatly appreciated! I read through previous patch notes and have seen some nerfs in the past.

Rek'Sai is primarily used for her utility. You should have a tunnel system to maximize shortcuts to get from one place to another as fast as possible. If the enemy Jungler shows his face anywhere, you should be counter jungling or counterganking every chance you get (and if you have a good tunnel system, you can do so fairly consistently). Finally, between your tunnel system and your ultimate, you should be focused on outflanking and outnumbering the enemy team in small skirmishes (for example turning a 2v2 into a 3v2 with your sudden arrival) instead of for example, getting caught in a team fight and being a substandard tank or being blown up too quickly building damage like you just complained about.

Rek'Sai is all about being smart rather than she is about being strong. You're one of the stronger control Junglers in the game when it comes to long range mobility and utility, but her kit's numbers don't let her stat check enemy champions very well. To maximize her strengths and avoid her weaknesses, you should be focusing on out-thinking your opponents above all else.
