New crit resistance passive on randuin's
So from what I've seen it is possible to get 20% crit resistance through masteries and itemization now and a 10% reduction to all aa's from boots. Pretty sure tanks are gonna be fine. Correct me if I'm wrong.

If you go with Tabi, though, you give up the Tenacity from Merc Treads, with no other way to build it.

True but whether you choose to build one of the two depends on the enemy team comp. Right? I mean tanks have that problem before the new crit resist on randuin's. I mean I'm really liking the update

Even now, Mercury's Treads will be built in 85% of games. Tabi is only useful if there's at least 2 AA based enemies, so an ADC and a Yi jungle, for example. Or an ADC and Tryndamere top.
Merc Treads are almost always useful. Much more useful than Tabi. You may be able to stack Omen and Tabi together once every 7 games.
youre wrong, because they trashed thornmail.
youre getting crit for a bit less damage unless you stack randuins there is no real counter item to adc anymore. overall the loss of thornmail hurts more than the addition of the 10% crit reduction is adding. im also curious how it works in terms of stacking. additive or multiplicative.

Thornmail scales with armor now. o.o You're usually building thornmail later in the game after you've already stacked most of your armor. Pretty sure the nerf was to avoid people just itemizing it people who weren't dedicated tanks.

thornmail lost most of its damage applied before resistances.
if you got crit for 1500 damage before the change, thornmail would reflect nearly 500 damage. now it reflects half of that plus maybe 20 or 30 damage from the armor scaling. the part added by the armor scaling is only a little bit of flat damage. overall a massive loss.
the damage thornmail deals is easily offset by lifesteal. even if you have a randuins with the crit damage reduction in your inventory.
Tanks are fine. Anyone who thinks they're not is dumb.

Just played a jungle malphite game... wrecked some face... lol You can still stack armor to the extent that it makes a riven and a yas useless. (I completely agree with you)
I got tired of seeing all of the negativity on the forums so I figured I would post something positive about the patch. o.o
