Veigar feels like shit to play Cross-post from GD
I'm not exactly sure what was going on in the balance team when they decided these changes could be a good thing, but dear god, it's bad. He's no longer fun to play to in the slightest. I'll break this up into Q and E so whoever actually reads this before mindlessly downvoting because "herpderp its a MAGE" can make sense of it all.
Okay, so his Q. It needs something more. It's range is abysmal for a skillshot that does literally nothing else than deal damage and MAYBE stack AP. Let's look at other champions who have skillshots shall we?
Goes through everything and has CC attached
One goes through every target twice dealing damage, the other one has CC attached
Has CC attached and drags him to target
Drags target to him
Has potential CC attached
Has potential CC attached, AoE CC the goes through all targets
Goes through all targets and has CC attached
This is me going alphabetically through the champion roster and what do you see? Every champion with a single target skill shot has CC or some utility attached to it. "But Veigar's Q is double target skill shot!" And to that I give you:
Double target with CC that essentially deals the exact same amount of damage as Veigar's and has 325 MORE range than Veigar's. But, it has a longer Cool Down.
So, I propose making his Q longer ranged and go through ALL targets. "But he will be able to farm massively now!!!!" Yeah, that's why we give him a longer Cool Down. Something along the lines of 15/14/13/12/11, which is the exact same as Lux's Q for reference. As it stands, his Q really does feel like shit to use, it's range is abysmal and trying to guess which minion it's fucked up hitbox is going to hit doesn't work. Something needs to be changed and I don't trust Riot enough to fix the hitboxes because thats not the only problem.
Moving on to his E. The change to it was great in theory, I can dig it. In fact, I support this change because it was a damn good idea from Riot, it was just slightly unfinished imo. The only problem, is that it either needs the delay reduced to .5 seconds or .25 seconds OR it needs a slow on the walls. It needs SOMETHING done about the duration, hell, give it a 50% slow on the walls before stunning, that'd work. It just really does need something done.
And finally to Veigars ultimate. Add back the .2 ratio you shaved for mana cost reductions. Seriously, give it back. What's the point of his passive if his mana costs are being shaved? I'd gladly pay 100+ more mana to have that .2 AP back. Some of you may think its nitpicking, but Veigar reliably gets over 1k AP lategame. The .2 ratio reduction means he effectively lost 200 damage on his final remaining burst skill.
Also, the art team did fucking horrific job on his re-texturing. Like, holy shit he looks worse than pre-vu Spectacular Sivir, I know, I owned her then. IronStylus, I know we've had issues in the past, but good fucking god man how the hell did you let this atrocity hit live?
Yes, I know we are getting another 120 AP Item and Veigar was intended to work with it, but unless that item somehow fixes everything here, he is still going to feel like shit to play.
TL;DR Veigar's Q needs more range and to go through all targets to keep in line with other skillshots within the game. His E needs the delay reduced or a slow added to the walls during the delay. His R needs it's .2 ratio added back on.
