This is my first time posting, forgive me if I did something stupid.
Anyway, I have a question. I main mid, and I've found that I really like the playstyle of Zed, Ahri, Kennen, and Malzahar. Any similar champs that you would recommend?
Note: I've been eyeing Kha'zix as a potential mid laner, but he seems to have gone down in power by a lot. Is he good or bad?
Well, Ahri, Zed and Kennen are all pretty mobile, high damage carries. So that kind of gameplay leads me to think of other mobile burst like Akali, or Le Blanc.
Malzahar, on the other hand, completely lacks mobility. He has a Silence on his Q, which can situationally save him, and his Ult, but otherwise he is not mobile or a very safe mage. If you're looking for other powerful-but-vulnerable mages, consider looking at Veigar, Syndra or Vel'Koz.
Khaz has dropped in popularity; they've changed some things with his abilities and his Isolation bonus (he deals a large amount of damage to Champions who are not close to any allies, including minions and towers). When he was a popular mid pick, he'd harass with W and then dive in for the kill, but I haven't tried it in a while so I can't say how successful you'd be now.
My most played mid laners. Out the 4 you mentioned I only play kennen.
Is there someone you're having trouble against specifically in mid lane?
Lissandra and Syndra both have combos and/or strong ults.
Anivia is a really good pusher, and after some mana items and practice, really strong.
Viktor is bursty.
It seems you like mobility picks... so maybe

(I'm buying lucian next and btw lucian mid is a very strong pick. Not sure why it isn't seen more, as i think it's even better than ezreal mid) on the other hand, you like malzahar, very high damage output but low mobility... so maybe 
. As far as midlanes go, two sleeper mid picks that can easily carry games are

. I usually pick fiora more into mid than riven, and both are more of a counter pick champ than a first pick or a main champ but they are both extremely strong against the right champions, and can flex pick and lane swap with mid and top lane (yasuo can do this as well)
What do you like about Malzahar? Is it his pet or the "press E and have it farm the wave"

Fizz is simlarish to zed IMO. Flash like abilities nuking. He's just a lot harder to use. Talon is very burst burst as far as assassins go as well.
