why does no one low level play aram?

i have to wait over 5 minutes on my aram only smurf before I play each game only to get matched with the same people as before

Most new players are probably overwhelmed with Normals as it is.

Also, do you need a certain number of champs unlocked for ARAM? (I haven't ever tried playing it prior to being level 30)

nah if you dont have any free week supplies you with some champs

If I put myself in their shoes, I would probably not play ARAM for two reasons:

  1. it keeps giving me champs I have no idea how to play, and

  2. even if I have played a champ before, I'm not good enough to outplay anyone in ARAM mode.

That probably doesn't make it very appealing to new players.
