I hope they make Naut what he looks like, beefy and extremely impactful since he is so big. The only parts that reflect that right now are his W and R, although his R doesn't do an incredible job since it is more quircky version of a Vi ult really. His Q needs to be better in general since right now it is really bad hrbrid of Blitz and Thresh hook since they meet midway which is almost never a good place to be since it only gets both jobs halfway done. It is really good at giving him an escape tool, but not all that good. His E is bad. Flat out. It is a slow that is near impossible to hit if they are moving away from you in anyway.

So in the end, his Q and E need to be changed a LOT and his R needs to be made into something better (more constant and awesome splashes before hitting the target?). His shield is the best part about him. He needs some more awesome juggernaut feels to him and a better ultimate.

he needs his kit updated instead of a simple buff atm nauts main power is in his shield, this is also the mechanic that riot wanted to use to make him a tank, shield have to give enemies a reason to hit him but as most of older tanks the mechanic failed, the newest tank like braum and newly updated maokai work atm riot tried taunts loads of cc free dmg and defensive scalings but now they slowly get to a place where they can make tanks a thing

still i think that it will take time to get naut working because they will have to probably change some parts of his kit quite heavy

Having used him, my only gripe is how mana hungry he is. If he was less blue buff dependent he'd be in a really good place. He's a fantastic tank and doesn't need a change otherwise. When Naut shows up, team survivability and kill capacity shoots over 9000. His tankiness and insane CC makes him well... a walking tank of CC awesomeness. The only reason I don't use him is because he requires blue buff for the first 20 min of the game when it could go to mid-laners like Veigar or Orianna.

Fix that and I doubt Naut would have any issues. Honestly, that's my same argument for Sejuani as well.

I find that Coat and Golem fixes his Mana issues fairly handily, as long as you only use W to clear.

I feel this so hard its crazy he needs blue buff to do anything for more than two minutes and I see sp441 had a good point but I am not a clear happy jungle I am a gank happy jungle and at level four its hard to find me not rushing a lane with naut cause his kit is to just hold the enemy laner there dealing dot until your team mate can jump in. but that mean all four abilities used maybe even twice if he gets away and we siege him under his turret and then I hit top or bot and then I have to back cause I am oom and I need blue buff to function with my favorite build that just stomps the jungle and the lanes and that hurts my mid lane. so yeah even just being able to hit each lane in a row before having to back for mana would really help

I think the builds just need to be updated. I play nautilus A LOT and he is completely underrated. If you build him with AP and attack speed he deals massive damage with his W. And his Q is actually fantastic. Your goal is to bring them close to you so you can hit them with your first lock in place, then you E to slow while they are still close. No builds ever seem mention Nashor's Tooth which is INCREDIBLY awesome with him.

But hey... I'll never turn down a buff on Nautilus :D

I'm not sure if Nautilus has problems so much as the jungle has problems accommodating CC-heavy tanks.

Nautilus's kit is pretty solid by tank standards, but unless you can go top lane or support - assassins just clear so much faster and get so much more gold in the jungle. It's mandatory you get more successful ganks off then them to even compete in gold, which kind of sucks.

Nautilus was an awesome jungler when the jungle had no gold available because the inverse was true - you were useless as an assassin unless you made the deficit up with a lot of successful ganks.

But generally speaking - Nautilus is having the same basic issues as Sejuani, Skarner, Zac, Rammus, Amumu, and other CC tanks. Until recently you could have thrown Alistar and Maokai in that bunch - but the buffs Riot gave those champions have moved them into top-lane, operating as an immovable object.

As a Naut player, absolutely naut (har har so clever.) He's an absolute powerhouse if he gets ahead, and I'm wagering your only weak point is early invades. Spoiler alert: Naut is supposed to be weak to early invades. That's how you counter teamfighting juggernauts like him. It's called counterplay.
