Nasus is Useless in the Jungle

Is it just me thinking that Nasus is only viable now in top lane? and thats solely if he gets enough stacks? I wanna jungle with him but every time I've tried it, it doesnt work. Or am I just playing him wrong?

Your thoughts please?

I'm pretty sure that's the point, he IS a TOP lamer, not a jungler I'm getting tired of people thinking they can jungle with him.

he does a pretty good drag solo at lv 6. %hp damage with no cap on monsters is pretty strong.

Either there is something wrong with you match history or "everytime you tried" is once and that one doesn't look too bad.

A common mistake of Nasus in the jungle is putting ranks in Q. This is suboptimal, it gives little damage and you are not killing mobs as fast as minions, so the cdr doesn't matter either.

edit: clarified some details. Also don't try to last hit all mobs, that only wastes time and life, start with one small mob, then you have the cooldown back for the big mob, just kill off the other small one and head to the next camp.

What you need to do is level E for fast clears (gold to get ahead!), and W for good ganks (more gold!). My best order seems to be QEWE or QEEW then WRWQW. Then max Q and finish E last.

After the laning phase is over you can start worrying about your stacks, that's why you max Q second, because you have more access to minions.

I'm not entirely sure about Devourer, on one hand he is killing a lot of mobs, so it's gonna stack a lot, but on the other hand he is alread stacking anyway. Juggernaut or Magus would give hjim something he lacks.

Also don't get two spellblades. Except for the AoE on Iceborn, they don't stack.

Nasus junglers generally forget to gank. That's probably why you're failing in this gank heavy meta.

Alrighty, thanks everyone for the wonderful feedback! And @Duke Anax you've provided me with some very specific feedback that I'm gonna try out. I really appreciate you taking the time to talk with me.

Back when the jungle didn't hurt so bad and the camps respawned faster Nasus jungle worked alright and it was a safe way to get near free farm top lane level stacks.

Now I'm not convinced, but you probably could get 300 by 20 minutes if you stack efficiently.

Jungle nasus works fine. You simply do not waste your camps. Dance till your q is up for the last hit on all mobs.

It's kind of detrimental to play a jungle Nasus imo, so as not trying to being an ass of just complaining while not giving solutions, i give you my Pros & Cons of Nasus jungle.

Pros

  • Very powerful ganks with leveled W, while adding more damage with E for your laners.
  • Good sustain in the jungle, similar to Olaf
  • Prone to counter-junglers due to his devastating damage combos with his WE combo, & natural sustain with his passive.

Cons

  • Damage output will be highly lower than he was in top lane, with the lack of damage from his main source of damage Q.
  • Due to this, he is most highly recommended to be build as a tank jungler, not AD jungler.
  • Has no escapes except for his W. Fighting against sticky jungler champs like LeeSin or Fiora may put you at a disadvantage if not played smartly.
