Do not randomize the abilities. Randomize the champion and give players 60 seconds to complete their kits. I have played DOTA 2 and while I like the idea of ability draft I hate that everything is random. I hate that I can't have that ultimate power fantasy unless the kit I want randomly pops up.

Kingsgrave1 votesThis just creates people minmaxing and becomes a super tryhard easy to abuse no fun mode. You would see everyone just using the mega CC abilities and every ADC gets like Gnar W, Vayne W, etc.,
The randomness would make it hilarious honestly. Think of all the crazy builds you would have to use to adapt to your situation.
Would be hilarious.
I just hope that each Character keeps their own innate passive and the abilities are the ones randomed.
Aonar1 votesActually..this is some of the most fun i have had in a game ever...I can absolutely ensure you that no matter how hard you try, you will not get that extreme min/maxed combo that you were hoping for in this type of game mode....and if you ever do it would be your most memorable game ever. Yes...it encourages min/maxxers, but, that is what kind of environment it is for...and it doesn't let them just pick and choose, they have to choose what abilities they would lose, and what they could gain depending on what the rest of the crowd has chosen... This kind of interaction is something that could increase the public's opinion of online gaming, and bring us even further into the mainstream....

No one who has come up with a ability draft has wanted players to be unable to have the power fantasy, this pretty much means that whoever gets lucky enough to get their fantasy wins. ARAM is a luck game ability draft is supposed to be a power tweaker game.

In ARAM, you have no control whatsoever over your powers, other than a possible 2 rerolls, but they only give you a catered 2 basic sets of powers anyone could have rolled....in (DOTA2s) ability draft 10 champions are chosen at random, and everyone picks abilities and ultimates based off of the champions, with no one picking the same ability twice.
Aonar1 votesNon randomization of an ability draft would result in a maximization/minimization of all skills...basically everyone would have a list of what skills where best and pick those first. I like DOTA2's randomization...and leagues version would be even more diverse...now that isn't saying it has to be the same as DOTA2's...you could have a mode where everyone drafts one champion...and then everyone gets a chance to pick abilities based upon what everyone picked...this is one of the reasons i like LOL still...they like to cater to their audience,...even though I enjoy DOTA2...League still offers interaction.
