Riot is actually doing a really good job on their game.

Ok so like, yeah. League had it's golden years when it was still new and people were still experimenting and yada yada yada. I've seen the old videos, I've heard the stories, read the threads. It's true that it's not the same game it was, and it likely never will be. However I'd like to present the argument that the game riot is creating is turning out better than any previous iteration. Yes, they've got a long way to go before it's ever finished, and yes there are still problems. Problems that they have been working on fixing. I mean, Aatrox got changes to his kit, Warwick and Yorick got a rework, the champions that they've released over the last couple of years have been pretty awesome in how different and unique they are. And for F***s sake Urgot it getting a rework. Then Evelynn after him, and they have other old champs that they want to improve.

Yeah, they could have just left everything as it was before, but here's the thing. The way it was before made the meta much more stale. I'll go ahead and say it, there were more off meta builds, but only a few champions were actually viable in competitive. The reason for this is that certain champions either had a lot of utility, an all encompassing kit, or higher stats than any other champ in a specific role. The way things are going now it's getting to the point where you could pick a jungler like say, Rumble and he's still be good enough to stand up to someone like for example; Gragas. We're at a point in league I think, where diversity and different strategies and team comps are becoming more viable than ever before. I think the larger champ pool as well as the new mastery system does contribute to that. Yes there will always be an optimal route, there are always going to be champions that are a peg above the rest. In a game with so many variables, that kind of thing is inevitable.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I think riot is doing a really good job of keeping us from having a stale meta, and with the recent release of two champs I'd say they're doing better than ever. Before you say that they did that because twice the money, I'd like to remind you that the last time they released two champions together; gragas and pantheon. Gragas came with pantheon for free and at the time he was extremely buggy to the point where even after some of the bugs were fixed people still didn't like to pick him, despite the fact that he was pretty good. But anyway the backlash from that was so bad that I'm pretty sure riot was discouraged from doing anything like that again.

the champs arent as much the problem as compared to feeding teamates.. but champions who build FULL TANK like sion and NUKE adc's who build full damage doesnt make sense. like a tank should be able to tank damage but not deal nearly as much. BIGGEST problem is why does it work? there will come a time when adc's will build tank and do damage . thats my guess. but other than that the game is ok

One thing I want to know is....when is the Urgot rework happening? I think he's supposed to be REAL soon but no info lately and it's driving me crazy.

Outside of class updates and that abomination called Dynamic Queue, I think they're doing great. But every class update in the last two years looms as a giant black mark on their otherwise pretty good recent record.
