Urgot - Matchups

Hey everyone,

With the recent rise of Urgot in popularity I naturally dabbled with him in the mid lane and have had quite a bit of success with him. With the amount of success I've had I became very curious about matchups. I'm trying to figure out if he doesn't really have any bad matchups, or if people just don't know how to play against him.

I personally can't think of a bad matchup for him, supposedly Le Blanc is supposed to be a matchup that favors Le Blanc, but I know I crushed it just the other day.

Don't get me wrong, I'm thinking it's very possibly that people I'm playing with just don't know how to play against him. I am afterall in Bronze so that's a very likely possibility.

What do you guys think? Does Urgot truly only have skill/favorable matchups? Or is he just still uncommon enough that people don't know how to deal with him?

Swain, Malzahar and Brand never lose lane, so I don't think they would have trouble with Urgot.

i play a lot games with Urgot ( s3 above 300 games) currently plat 2

my opinion on his matchups :

midlane

Annie annie is really hard to play against because of her stun burst charakter you may go even in laning phase or win slightly but in midgame she ll crush you with flash tibbers ( your ult is useless against her)

Viktor viktor is a skillmatchup slightly in Ugots favour

Leblanc no problems here she is sooo squishy, you will trigger her passive with one combo and can lock on even if she is stealthed can be outplayed by aimin on her distortion field ( she can outplay you too but your shield will block a lot of burst)

Katarina hard matchup (laning) -> kata having no limitations with mana + can jump out of range if you hit your e + better synergie with ganks but in teamfights you have the upper hand with your ult very skilly all in all

Zed relativly easy given that you can build very effective against ad champs and you counter his ult pretty hard

Diana should be easy -> push here under tower pre six -> post six she ll probably not engage on you because you just ult her to beef up ( dont underestimate her damage tho)
