Why does this happen in flex queue? I'm silver 1 zero LP in flex trying to climb to gold because I'm much closer than solo duo but I am getting a lot of really fun, fair, and balanced matchmaking shown in pic related.

Because those people have the same flex mmr. It's not some absurd range being allowed, it's that flex simply thinks they are silver.

I have the same problem:P The matchmaking system is bull sh*t, I played 7 games which only 2 of em I won cus in my team were unrankeds and bronzes when in enemy were golds and plats. That ridiculous, but the funniest part is when at the start of the game unrankeds or newbes tying "First time Trynda dont flame me" and then he goes 0/6 at first 3 minutes or going AFK before flamming others for his/her idiocity and lack of skill.

Flex matchmaking is pure shit and has become troll league for a lot of people. I lucked out and placed G4 here to get the last Ori Chroma, but on my other 2 accounts its been hell.

One fresh acct got to gold in 40 games placed S3 solo/duo, but for flex placed S5 and 140 games later just in S1. It's not even the fact that most games you have people higher than silver, but many times it comes down to who has the legit silver or bronze vs a plat in the lane that runs away with the game

All queues should have some impact from Solo/Duo queue where they can't be placed more than 1 tiers off. IE, Plat 3 solo player lowest they can place is Gold 3 flex, Diamond 2 lowest is Plat 2 etc so we dont have shit like Plats in bronze and silver games or gold in bronze games where it's just for luls fun for them but a shit game for everyone else. I've been there against bronze and getting scores of 20+ kills but I still dont see how thats fun or much of a learning experience for anyone else

Flex Queue uses a seperate MMR. The website you use shows Solo/duo Queue rank not Flex Queue rank.

Flex MMR and soloQ MMR have nothing to do with each other. SoloQ ranks aren’t taken into account for flexQ

If you're a god damn plat, you shouldnt be in a fking Silver flex game. While all the talk about "coordinated teams" and "smurfing for trolls" might be true, the actual literal idea of RIOT saying:"We know you are a PlatX... we want you to play against SilverX's... and we want 2-3 Plats vs 2 Silvers, a gold, and a bronze." Its fking stupid. The entire point of a ranked system, regardless if solo or flexed, is the idea that once you place, you play against people within X range of your rank, and as you win, you move up, opening the door to the POTENTIAL for playing against better players. DOTA's mm actually works mostly, Overwatch's MM actually works, mostly, ALL OF THE MOBA'S I PLAY ACTUALLY HAVE A DECENTLY FUNCTIONING MM, MOSTLY.... except league, which has the actual mechanic of "We know youre a PLATX, here's some SILVER's to beat up on in a "different" ranked system."
